Masterful combat, a heap of interactive elements, and delightfully indulging gore all interweave to create something close to a masterpiece.

When it sinks its fangs into you, Mordhau has dozens of hours worth of head chopping, arrow shooting, character customizing, build testing, and lute playing to offer.

Even as horrible as I am at the combat it is impossible to deny the melee fighting is a welcome reprieve from the usual first-person shooter or Diablo-esque hack-n-slash combat.

Mordhau is not for those who want a multiplayer experience that’s easy to drop into and utterly destroy foes. However, the joy of mastering its challenging system as well as memorable moments of violent ballet make these engrossing battles unique.

High skill cap melee combat is equally rewarding and daunting, though the archery and support roles could use some work.

Mordhau’s deep melee combat system creates moments of gory multiplayer medieval magic.

Overall, Mordhau delivers a lot of medieval fun. The fights are exciting and thanks to the big selection of weapons there’s one for every taste. The fact that there aren’t very many maps and the lackluster battle royale mode hold the game back a little bit. But it still delivers what it promises and is definitely worth your attention.

Mordhau is a slap in the face and a pleasure at every moment. Much more than a spiritual sequel to Chivalry, it's an exciting game. Deep, easy to understand but difficult to master, it's a breath of fresh air for video games.

Sometimes confusing, sometimes really hard to handle, Mordhau is a game that quickly becomes fun to play and really brutal. There is a certain sens of humor in it, close to the Monty Python, that brings an exotic flavour to this tense medieval battle game.

Mordhau is like a spiritual successor of Chivalry. Its cleverly-designed combat system and its Frontline mode will give you many, many hours of fun.

Mordhau can be considered one of the best online titles in recent years, offering a deep and satisfying gameplay specially for the fans of one on one combat, and while issues can be seen here and there, nothing is serious enough to affect the the whole experience.

Despite the fact that many will be scared off by its long list of mechanics and a well-settled community that's already miles ahead of newcomers, Mordhau is an excellent online experience with hours and hours of enjoyment resting just beyond some initial frustrations.

Mordhau is tough, violent, beautiful, and doesn't pull its punches. Despite an intense learning curve that could be better alleviated with more tutorials or better practice tools, its supreme swordplay and combat mechanics eventually outshine any initial frustration. The scale of battle is overwhelming and chaotic, but there's a definite sense to all the nonsense that, once you uncover it, gives you an incredible rush every time you go toe-to-toe with the enemy--even if you don't come out the other side intact.

Mordhau's incredibly satisfying melee combat and slapstick ultra-violence make for a riotously good time on the medieval battlefield, though a lack of maps for the best mode and lingering technical issues are cracks in the armor of this otherwise thrilling multiplayer slasher.

Mordhau in the best hack 'n slash online game on the market, with some limits.

A violent battle against dozens of swords, archs and war machines. The battle system is great and the ideas around the combat are one of the greatest in the genre. Needs to improve his content, visuals and sound.

Mordhau is a goofy yet realistic medieval combat game that caters to a ton of different players. Many will grind games in order to best perfect their skills with their favorite weapon. Then there's me, who literally runs around the battlefield playing a musical instrument that adds absolutely zero gameplay value to the team. That's the beauty of Mordhau -- the individual moments tend to outweigh any of the design flaws or technical glitches that are present.

On paper, Mordhau could look like any medieval brawler as we have seen for years. But in reality, it knows how to stand out with a combat system that is halfway between the arcade game and the realistic one, and a rather advanced personalization. We only regret the low number of cards and game modes, hoping that it will be completed in the near future via a few updates. However, everything is counterbalanced by a chubby humour that hits the target and will give you (at least) a few dozen hours of fun, with or without friends.

The fighting system is fun and the game gives the atmosphere of the middle age battlefield in a good way. Even though it loses its magic when playing for a long time. It has potential if future update able to keep players in the game and fix frustrating bugs and Server issues.
