The combination of sticking to the core values of the Mortal Kombat franchise, while also adding just the right amount of new makes this latest entry more than worthwhile...It does a great job of not relying to much on nostalgia, and giving plenty of new while still remaining recognizable.

Mortal Kombat X is easily the pinnacle of Mortal Kombat, building on every improvement the series made in 2011, adding depth to the main fighter and delivering advancement to the modes that only NetherRealm could offer.

Easily the deepest in the series, in terms of both story and combat mechanics.

Mortal Kombat X is a mechanically clean and visually grisly release that comes highly recommended for all fans of the fighting genre.

Mortal Kombat X is more than the continuation of NetherRealm’s successful vision for the franchise; it’s one of the best fighting games in years.

The new chapter continues the work started with the previous reboot of the saga. This is a marvelous and violent beat-em’up.

Mortal Kombat X offers the best story mode I've ever personally seen in a fighting game. Its cohesive plot and extended cinematics makes you feel much more like a participant in a film than a player on the couch. The fighting is frantic, fluid, and dynamic, with the glorious goriness of the X-Ray moves often turning the tides of battle.

Not only is this the highest quality story NetherRealm has ever put together, it’s perhaps the best fighting game story ever. Character Variations aren’t the game-changer NetherRealm was hoping for, but do little to detract from how good the core gameplay mechanics already are.

Bloody, brutal, "komplete", spectacular ... If you like fighting games, don´t miss Mortal Kombat X.

Despite the extreme and often cringe-worthy violence, Mortal Kombat X is quite beautiful in its own way; like visiting a museum exhibit on the human body and all the ways it can be destroyed. And like a museum, there’s plenty to see and do here, including a surprisingly intimate story, one-on-one battles, endless challenges, and a competitive, socially-connected metagame.

Mortal Kombat X is the most successful episode in Ed Boon's series in almost 20 years. NetherRealm took advantage of the powerful PS4 and Xbox One to offer gamers a beautiful game, enjoyable for beginners and experts at the same time.

Easily the best fighting game on the market today. MK X takes all of the lessons learned with the 2011 release and turns it up to 11: content, gameplay, and overall fun. If the developers can improve the netcode a little bit, this could be a major contender on the fighting game scene for years to come.

Mortal Kombat X is the biggest and boldest entry in the series, pushing the boundaries on gruesomeness, offering an abundance of content, game modes and unlockables, and altogether bringing the franchise forward into the current generation.

This sucker is just as nasty, fun, and addictive as ever. It’s just that now the face-eating moves are more beautifully animated to keep up with new technology. What a time to be alive.

It's a bloody, gory bout of glory with intricate controls, a varied and balanced roster, and a ton of ways to play both online against peers or alone on the couch.

Building upon everything right with its predecessors, Mortal Kombat X takes the series another step forward with an insanely fun story that is surrounded by well fleshed out characters and gameplay that takes the best of the past while infusing it with brand new mechanics.

The combat is rock-solid, and offers a technicality that may surprise those with a low opinion of the series.

After the Mortal Kombat reboot and Injustice: Gods Among Us, NetherRealm Studios again delivers with a jam-packed fighting game with interesting characters, a fantastic combat system and a truly enjoyable story mode. Keep up the good work, please.
