In contrast to MXGP3, with MotoGP 17 Milestone created a complete racer with superb mechanics and a fantastic riding model that is as close to reality as a videogame can get.

With two career modes and a buttload of customisation options, combined with exciting racing at any level, MotoGP ‘17 is another success for the series.

Some new gameplay features like the manage system help the player to forget the graphics and the general lack of innovation.

Another MotoGP sim plenty of content and fun to play but lacks the graphical punch found in the best driving games out there.

MotoGP 17 is a step back from Valentino Rossi the game. Although it brings a new manager mode and classical riders, it does not justify the price tag.

It may lack any distinctive feature that helps it truly stand out from the pack, but fans of motorcycle racing can’t go wrong here.

After the 2016 surprisingly versatile and breezy Valentino Rossi: The Game, the series returns to rest on its laurels, offering the usual officially licensed contents, the traditional online and offline modes, plus a new yet slow Management Career powered by the efficient yet ancient proprietary graphic engine. MotoGP 17 is a step back from the variety of content that featured Valentino Rossi: The Game. Manager Career is a good news, but does not justify the purchase of this annual license.

MotoGP 17 is the last chapter of the historical motorbike simulation series created by Milestone. This year title is full of official contents and enriched by a nice Manager Modality, offering to the fans lots of hours of fun. With a solid gameplay and old-gen graphics (that is becoming every year more annoying), it’s a game suggested only to great fans of motor sports, especially with strong sales. For the others, better to wait for the switch of graphic engine, that is finally next to come.

MotoGP 17 doesn't evolve much and visually feels quite outdated, but it is a good game, and it will satisfy the fans of this competition.

Business as usual, which means: a lot of depth and content in the racing department, but also mediocre graphics and a lacklustre atmosphere.

As many others have already done, Milestone must change its engine and add much more tan just a season update and more legend drivers to the official MotoGP game. Manager mode is a great addition, as well as the improved work in tracks and configurations, although this MotoGP 17 feels quite too much like last year's one and it's hard to make it worth paying its full price.

MotoGP is basically Valentino Rossi: The Game without The Italian Doctor. The game still works, and it's still fun, but it seems like the devs are waiting for the next year to finally bring the series into a new era.

MotoGP 17 could be seen as a last hurrah for Milestone’s ageing game engine, but even with new modes and technical improvements, it feels more like they’re treading water while waiting to revitalise the series next year with Unreal Engine 4. Get it if you absolutely must have 1080p60 MotoGP, but otherwise, there’s something better on the horizon.

When you accelerate away from the line for the first time, you quickly realize how clinical and devoid of character it all is.

Yes, the manager mode is a neat addition and 60 fps on console is long overdue. But that aside, this is a meager full price update for a mediocre racing game.
