This is why you risked your life and went into debt: For a game console.

Motorstorm is pretty much the best off-road driving simulation ever to grace a console. The physics are so accurate, yet altered for arcade like effect, and feel so right that the development team must have had at least a couple Physics PhD’s on staff to pull off such a feat.

Tough, dynamic racing. A blistering thrill ride that makes good on PlayStation 3's promises.

The Japanese version feels like a demo - hugely entertaining for what it is, but severely truncated and ultimately disappointingly lacking on content.

A truly excellent racing game, and a welcome addition to the PS3 canon. If it weren't for the lack of multiplayer this would score in the nineties.

Let's be excited about the fact that it still manages to feel incredibly fresh, immediate and exotic, in spite of its notoriety. Bolstered for its European release, it ought to be a classic, but right now it's simply excellent.

One of Motorstorm's big successes is that it demands of you things that other racers don't even bother to ask. You'll have to learn every nook and cranny of the terrain before you can drive around courses with confidence.

Never has an off-road racer felt so compelling, so necessary and so thrilling... The finest arcade racer since "Burnout Revenge."

The courses in MotorStorm are a real strong point. Well designed, they're challenging, but they also let you have fun. There aren't too many on offer - just eight - but every one of them is a sprawling playground for you to muck around in.
