Moving Out 2 is an enjoyable game with friends or family, but it can sometimes get a little frustrating. Playing alone can get boring.

A superior multiplayer co-op sequel, which maximises its novel premise with improved level design and a flood of clever new ideas.

Rarely can you say that moving house is fun, but SMG Studio’s co-op party sequel manages to introduce more than enough new ideas and added content to have you pushing aside your weekend plans to pack and stack.

Moving Out 2 succeeds in all the ways a sequel should. Keeping the best elements from the first game and interspersing them among a truckful of imaginative levels, Moving Out 2 is bigger, better and whackier than before. The different dimensions offer their own challenges and are aesthetically pleasing even in moments of frustration. The DualSense's subtle use is effective and makes pulling out electrical wires more fun than hazardous. To package all of this together, the writers have put together amusing dialogues which match the lively mechanics, visuals and audio.

Moving Out 2 innovates on the foundation of puns, puzzles, and platforming its predecessor built before it and provides a break from the mainstream releases of 2023.

Moving Out 2 improves on its predecessor in every single way. The addition of online multiplayer, more level variety and a host of accessibility options make Moving Out 2 one of the best same screen coop multiplayer experiences.

The chaotic adaptability in the face of whatever weird mash-up of things that Moving Out 2 throws at you is what makes it more than just a delivery machine for so many puns.

Moving Out 2 is an accomplished sequel, building on what made the first game great and really honing in on its presentation and content offering. It's not a radical departure, and not all of its levels are designed equally, but overall this is another feather in SMG Studio's cap.

It’s a clichéd line but that doesn’t stop it from being true: if you loved Moving Out then you’ll love Moving Out 2. It’s a whole lot more of the same chaotic multiplayer action you’ve come to expect. Sadly, when you get your mates around to play, you’ll likely just focus on the early levels, as the game once again loses its way and gets far too hard in the latter stages. A focus on straight-up non-stop silly fun would be much appreciated if there’s a Moving Out 3.

Moving Out 2 is a great game that excellently builds upon the strengths of the original and adds even more creative levels to the mix that will constantly challenge you in new and interesting ways.

Bold, colourful and entirely silly, Moving Out 2 is a must-play for couch co-op fans. A sequel to 2020’s Moving Out perhaps wasn’t needed, and this doesn’t exactly reinvent the wheel. But it does provide fans with bigger, better, and more riotous levels to play with their friends. And this time, you can play online too! What more could we ask for, really?

Moving Out 2 doesn't try to reinvent the wheel (or the couch, fridge, or wardrobe, for that matter), but it confidently enters the relatively niche realm of physics-based couch co-op games. Unlike its characters, it stands on solid ground, delivering hours of fun within masterfully designed levels. However, it's worth noting that not all of its content may suit your preferences, potentially causing frustration rather than enjoyment. In such cases, you can take advantage of its numerous accessibility options to tailor the challenge to your desired level of fun.

Moving Out 2 is bigger, crazier and more fun than the previous installment. The game dishes out a lot of variety in levels and associated elements, which makes for an enjoyable experience. Especially when playing in co-op, although the game still has some bugs online and the side missions are more of a hindrance than a motivation in gameplay, but these are things that can be overlooked considering the rest of Moving Out 2 has its act together.

A sequel that improves the gameplay mechanics of the first Moving Out by heading in new directions, and that expands the amount and complexity of the challenges. In some cases, some immediacy is lost, but the fun is guaranteed, thanks also to the possibility of four-player play in both local and online modes.

If you're after more Overcooked-like co-op fun, Moving Out 2 is a great option. Its colourful presentation, cheeky humour, and increasingly madcap levels combine for a successful follow-up.

Moving Out 2 plays it safe with more of the same fun from the original. Whilst the game is more cohesive and streamlined with its levels, it loses some of the random craziness that you weren’t expecting from the first. New modes are decent and the addition to online co-op is great but don’t go into the game expecting it to reinvent the wheel.

A disappointing followup filled with gimmicks to validate its existence that end up getting in the way of the core appeal. Perhaps Moving Out 2 was a pivot too far.
