Even though you see all of the enemies from your vantage point, you still can't help but feel that another one is going to pop out and surprise you. That, in combination with the odd visuals, make this quite the trippy game.

Featuring awesome neon visuals, frantic gameplay, and some of the tightest controls we've experienced, Mutant Storm is an impressive addition to any gamer's collection.

Anyone who likes arcade shooters should pick this game up. If you like a challenge, doubly so. My biggest qualm with the game is that, because the control surface is also the screen, I sometimes couldn't see the action because my own thumbs got in the way.

An excellent port showcasing a psychedelic flair in its retro-visuals that seems to be quite prevalent in iOS arcade titles (and for good reason). Add in the quick pace, large number of levels and wide variety in difficulties, and you've got a great game worth checking out.

Mutant Storm doesn't light the world on fire, but even as a 2005 re-release, it does some things differently enough on a structural level that it should engross fans of the dual-stick shooter.

Mutant Storm is a totally competent, intense shooter, but don't expect any surprises.

So if you're the type of sadist that enjoys the thrill of unholy enemies zeroing in on you from all angles with barely a minute to catch your breath, then Mutant Storm is as pure an arcade shooter as you're going to find. Let it rain.

Despite its flaws, Mutant Storm is still an easy enough recommendation for twin-stick junkies.

In the long run the storm of rarely changing enemies gets monotonus. But if you're into dualstick action you can give this a shot – especially since the controls are surprisingly accurate.

A finely-tuned port from Xbox to iPad, but Mutant Storm feels flat and unsatisfying in comparison to far better blasters on the App Store.
