This game is pretty balanced: Action, tactics and dexterity team up with each other for your pleasure. There are some beat 'em up levels, jump 'n' run passages and a really long lasting appeal.

Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Heroes 3 finally brings this anime and manga series in the portable universe of PSP. The roster is huge, the new multiplayer options are quite delightful, but the combat system is too flat and button smashing-oriented. A game only suggested for the fans of the brand. Fans ready to touch the identical mechanics of the past.

The Ultimate Ninja Heroes series for the PSP has improved with each game, but not enough to keep itself fresh.

Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Heroes 3 is the classical "more of the same". This game is almost identical to any other Ultimate Ninja games for PSP. The only differences are the higher characters number and the new multiplayer options. If you're a BIG fan on the original anime, buy it. If you just want a Naruto game... you can have the previous one for a few bucks.

Thanks to this game, I have a renewed interest for the Nine-Tailed Fox kid and his little world of Ninjas. I can still see some room for improvement, especially considering that the same developer created a more worthy current gen console release with an amazing visual impact and likeness to the source material.

Although it once again comes as the typical Naruto tie-in that fans should not be missing, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Heroes 3 for PSP offers only one "real" game mode, while the classic arcade mode has been eliminated. There are plenty of available characters, but the gameplay is getting old.

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Heroes 3 is another example of a solid effort by CyberConnect2 that suffers from some stiff gameplay.

NS:UNH3 is only going to be of an interest to fans of the series, and even them, only to fans who haven't been playing the other entries in the series.

Worth Playing June 10, 2024
Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Heroes 3 might be the only fighting game based on the new series so far, but that doesn't automatically make it a recommended title for fans of the series. The flat story mode with dull platforming stages drag down the game, since this is the mode where the most time will be spent.

The clunky controls make this game pretty hard to play. Most of the time, all you need is Button Mashing.

Fans of the series will gobble this one up, and if you haven't tried out any of the previous PSP installments, this would be the one to consider. Otherwise, there are several superior anime-style fighters on the market that eclipse Ultimate Ninja Heroes 3.

Though there is plenty to explore in the game's story mode, the story is all well-tread ground and there aren't any supporting modes other than an ad-hoc multiplayer mode.

Interesting for the fans but nothing more than that. It's a shame to see how Naruto isn't going anywhere in the latest chapter that PSP users received in Europe, although it's an interesting pick for those who enjoy playing on multiplayer. If you're interested on the story, you better forget about it.

In terms of presentation, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Heroes 3 is a fine entry to the franchise. However, series stalwarts will begin to see the seams showing in the game's tepid storyline and bland gameplay mechanics.

Naruto Shippuden: UNH3 isn't a bad game, but it does at times feel more of a chore playing than it is actually having fun.

Extra content is spread very thinly but voracious Naruto fans will lap this up.

This is already the third part in the franchise and it's sad to see that the quality is a lot poorer than before. The game has nice graphics and a nice story, but the gameplay is repetitive and the controls are a bit crappy. The die-hard fans will get some fun out of it, but that's all.

It's not too much to ask for a game to deliver both fan service and solid gameplay. It's just more than this particular game can manage.

Nothing really new under the Konoha' sun. Only the newcomers and not-yet-bored fans will really appreciate this new episode.

The gameplay presented is a mix of character battles--too many of which are filler--and poorly executed side-scrolling platforming stages; playing these segments often feels like a little more than a required chore to reach the next cutscene or unlockable.
