When it comes to games for sports lovers, this one leads the list. It's my early favorite for sports game of the year.

It's 2K3 or bust if you're a serious hoop head.

Without a doubt the most realistic basketball game ever to hit the market. It’s got everything a fan could want: franchise mode, online mode, create a player, and the best gameplay around.

Unmatched in its field thanks to major improvements in every category combined with a deeply rewarding simulation experience.

A great basketball engine with improved physics and new moves, finely detailed and rich graphics, and modes both diverse and immersive all combine to make NBA 2K3 the best true representation of basketball out there.

Accuracy reigns over adrenaline, and NBA 2K is the king of video hoops yet again.

One fantastic looking game, and it plays like a dream. The controls are logical and simple, but at the same time can be very complex.

Simply put, NBA 2k3 is the best basketball game ever made.

The key is the gameplay. While there are some nagging issues, the game is balanced overall and will appeal to fans of the game.

Despite its random flaws, the game's gorgeous graphics, solid gameplay and top-notch Franchise mode make it an easy All-Star.

Online play, a much-improved franchise mode, and the integration of the ESPN license dot the i's in an already great series.

When played head to head , 2K3 feels a little slow, a tad unexciting and a touch old school, but it still looks and plays the closest to real NBA basketball. For hardcore hoops fans, that's what really matters.

From its robust Franchise mode to its peerless graphics engine, and from the intimidating control options (I’m still finding new stuff to do as I write this!) to its mostly lag-free online playability, NBA 2K3 redefines and expands the genre to new heights.

Basketball doesn’t get any better than this.

Improves upon NBA 2k2 in almost every single way.

This is by far one of the best sports simulations out there. However, if you are looking for an experience closer to old-school b-ball games like NBA Jams, then you don't want to come here.

This is the game for real basketball fans to get.

NBA 2K3's great gameplay, in-depth franchise mode, and functional (albeit shoddy) online play make it a must-have for fans of the sport.

A solid looking, solid playing basketball game that sits firmly in the ‘realism’ camp.

Although the player models look better than they do in EA's game, the movements aren't as fluid. Some of the animations (especially passing) are a little awkward.
