NCAA Football 11 Critic Reviews

It is pretty rare that I recommend an upgrade for owners of the previous season's game. But NCAA Football 11 warrants an upgrade.

There are enough improvements in NCAA Football 11 to make it a worthwhile purchase for any college football fan, especially those who wear their respective school colors even during the off-season.

NCAA has its flaws, but with improved on-the-field action, recruiting, and presentation (including the option to generate custom stories on your Dynasty), for the first time in years I feel like I'm getting the college experience.

I think that EA Sports has exceeded in their efforts to bring a solid NCAA Football game to football fans. This is the first NCAA Football game that I can safely say gets close to or is on par with Madden NFL.

NCAA Football 11 is a great game of football, it has some shortcomings, but those are overshadowed by an all around excellent football game that I found to be one of the best the series has put out on this generation of consoles.

NCAA has managed to satiate a lot of different palettes, while expanding outside of the confines of the console to provide a potentially richer experience for gamers who choose to take advantage of the new online features.

The gameplay is incredibly responsive -- the addition of locomotion really makes the game feel more authentic and less arcadey like it has in the past.

Even with our small list of complaints – add sluggish menus and lack of meaningful updates to Road To Glory and TeamBuilder to them – NCAA Football 11 is a triumph. It's the best college football game we've ever played, offering a tremendous experience to gridiron fans.

The gameplay has a more realistic and authentic feel; and this year's new features will satisfy not only the hardcore NCAA football fan but the casual ones as well.

Hardcore Road to Glory fans may not agree with my final statement, but NCAA Football 11 is the best game in the current generation series and is definitely a solid and important improvement on its predecessor. What EA Tiburon/EA Canada have accomplished deserves all the praise I can give.

It seems the NCAA Football franchise has finally found its identity, and the end product is extremely impressive.

Probably the best entry in the series in the last five years. All the changes made to the way the game is played are big improvements, and even though it can be a bit too easy at times, NCAA Football 11 is still incredibly fun.

NCAA Football 11 makes a number of big improvements to the way the game plays that makes this one worth checking out if you've been unsatisfied with the lack of improvements over the past few years.

The complete, $60 package of NCAA Football 11 is the best that the series has produced in some time.

NCAA Football 11 brings substantial improvements to core gameplay and presentation but lacks in improvements and additions to game modes. While it isn't without its issues, it is undoubtedly the best NCAA Football game to date.

While in some ways little brother has finally come of age, it still has nagging immaturity issues at times. While there are no new modes, the tweaks to the existing ones are all for the better, and the new running controls are so precise and lifelike that we hope big brother Madden takes the hint.

Overall, NCAA Football 11 is a fantastic title. A lot of improvements have been made for this year's version and it shows.

The game will certainly not blow you away by any means, but if you dive in year in and year out you won't be disappointed. I can only hope Madden is this improved because that means that I am in for a great year of virtual football.

We're guessing may of these issues will be sorted out by 2012, but for now, this year's version offers the most technical and comprehensive college-football experience yet.

Even with some missed opportunities for growth, particularly in the Road to Glory mode, NCAA Football 11 is still easy to recommend to college football fans, and sports fans in general.
