The combat is in the game is extremely gratifying.

It's not a new Painkiller, but the constant carnage acts as a perfect stress reliever and it has a great variety of drastic antics, some of which, like the burning shovel-throwing kaiser zombies, make me all warm and fuzzy inside. The story is completely brain-dead, the hero's monologues worse than Vogon poetry, and the (painfully long) letters of the deceased soldiers that are read on the loading screens even worse, but these obstacles can be overcome if you are after pure, absurdly intensive action.

A satisfying shooter blood feast, if that’s what you’re looking for.

Necrovision is overall a good game, with some fun moments and original features, something to praise nowadays... but it does not reach to be a great game. Thus, combining the little awareness of the game in comparison with the latest larger productions, will probably make Necrovision go mostly unnoticed.

The game delivers non-stop action from start to finish, constantly throws new enemies at you and gradually introduces new abilities. It won't be everyone's idea of a good time, but leave your brain on the installation screen and you're likely to have plenty of mindless fun.

NecroVisioN falls short of its own self-imposed mark, to rekindle the old-school shooter experience, but that was a particularly high bar to reach. So if you fancy a simple run-and-gun experience with a few twists, you’ll get your money’s worth.

This moody alternate-history shooter can be a ton of fun--it just doesn't put its best foot forward.

If the story had been a lot more coherent and decided whether it wanted to be tongue-in-cheek or tragic, then it would be a bit easier for me to get on board and enjoy the ride. Even so, having made the commitment to play through the game, I found myself appreciating the abundance (sometimes overabundance) of combat features and the hundreds of enemies waiting around each corner.

Thanks to the close combat parts, Necrovision feels a bit like Serious Sam for brawlers. But all in all there's not enough variety and most of the 15 hours of playing time are filled with battles against the same enemies again and again. It's still fun though.

The last half of this game is far superior to the first.

NecroVisioN is out-and-out old school corridor (or rather trench) blasting and is unrepentant about it.

Were NecroVision to turn up on Steam for less than a tenner, then it'd be worth considering.

A weird mixture of WW1-shooter, zombies, demons and mechanical monsters. Though the bossfights are exciting, the leveldesign and the endless waves of dumb standard-enemies are boring. Graphics and sound are just average quality.

Crazy as hell Necrovision brings a new perspective to the events of World War One. Strictly a linear action shooter excels with an unconventional set of weapons and frantic boss fights. Unfortunately, the graphics don't match the extreme HW requirements.

A game that can be fun, but overall not so good. Great visuals and an interesting combat system, with some good moments. But its story is not as good as it should be, gameplay is a bit harsh playing with keyboard, and it's so typical that it isn't a fun experience overall.

Budget price and no more. NecroVision fails.

An insipid and trite game that struggles with plot, consistency and character, settling instead for a mindless headlong charge.

World War One with zombies somehow ends up being no fun.

At first, NecroVisioN seems like a fun game. But when you realize that the 1237th encounter with monsters is the same as the 561st, and that melee is just a polygon mess, all the fun goes away.
