A text book example of how to make the perfect follow up. Take everything that was popular in the first then power up the graphics, level up the characters and open up the shops so that they stock a larger range of items and spells. Bigger, better, and hell of a lot sweeter.

From Software always manages to amaze me with each new game they create, and Otogi 2: Immortal Warriors is their best work yet. Make this one an instant purchase.

A mesmerizing tone dominates the heavily Japanese landscape, built off of a rich spirit of what feels like ancient folklore and mysticism. This translates - brilliantly, tangibly - into the connection with the combat and the control of the characters.

Xbox Nation Magazine May 9, 2024
Combines slick, well-tuned controls with an accessible combo scheme with unbelievably thick visual effects to create a complete third-person action package.

Your enjoyment of this game will correlate directly to whether you dig the highly Japanese flourishes and style...If this is your bag, Otogi 2 offers some of the most lavish ass-kicking destruction around.

It's a marvel. I logged at least 25 hours my first time through and I hadn't even come close to seeing everything this game has to offer. Even with the games flaws front and center at times, all of the innovations and extras add up to a sequel worth crowing about.

Featuring some of the best visuals and voice acting currently on the market, it will please anyone looking for an aesthetically pleasing game.

Aesthetically, the first Otogi game was a real knockout, and Otogi 2 ups the ante considerably. In truth, there are few games on any platform that come close to this level of polish, and it's surprising the series isn't selling like hotcakes on the merit of its visuals alone.

Beyond its gorgeous surface trappings, Otogi 2 may not be as deep or satisfying as "Ninja Gaiden," but the minute you rack up a 200-hit combo or smack the snot out of a gaggle of headless ghouls, there's no denying it - Otogi 2 deserves to be experienced by all gamers who have a spot for pretty things and are unafraid to get in touch with their button-mashing side.

Whether it's the brute strength of Kintoki and his mighty axe or the agility of Sadamitsu and her swift scythe, there is fun to be had by all and close to twenty hours to do so.

Offers a stunningly beautiful fighting frenzy. It is frustratingly difficult at times, but also rewards persistence and experimentation. You will break a sweat just thinking about all the action.

Everything about Warriors is imaginative at its mind-blowing best. And it's all packaged with some amazing graphics, a haunting soundtrack, perfect controls, and enough gameplay to last over 20 hours if you're the thorough type. Don't miss it.

FromSoftware has yet to turn this one into the masterpiece it could be. Action fans will love it as it's a non-stop butt-whoopin' good time. If the term "beautiful destruction" gets you all tingly inside, this is the game for you.

Retains much of its predecessor's unique and awe-inspiring style, thanks to a great new cast of characters, some completely new types of challenges, and a presentation that's second to none.
