The Perils of Man is a well-constructed, compelling adventure full of mechanical contraptions, scientific hubris, impending disaster, and singular courage.

The Perils of Man confirms that well chosen and original ideas, as well as stories concerning timeless questions of humanity often result in very interesting adventure games, even if they don't have a high production budget.

For all of the meddling with time Perils of Man focuses on, it feels like time is the one thing it needed more of to really develop itself into another classic adventure game.

If you haven’t played many point-and-click adventures and want to start, or you want to rekindle your love of this genre, then The Perils of Man would be the game to start with.

Perils of Man provides a solid point and click experience that will immerse you into this fantasy story and definitely racks up enough game time to make the small price tag worthwhile.

Overall, Perils of Man is a budget adventure that sort of looks and plays like a budget adventure.

A lacklustre ending and unremarkable adventure game mechanics may hold Perils of Man from reaching its full potential, but this is still a game worth checking out for anyone who likes a good time travel story with a compelling lead.

We've enjoyed the journey, but not so much the destination. The final sequences seem a little rushed, but even with some issues, it's worth checking out.

For those that really enjoy the point and click genre, Perils of Man is worth a look, despite its flaws.

Perils of Man is a fun point and click adventure, but there are just too many frustrating parts to make this a great game. Only the biggest fans of the genre should bother with this title.

Perils of Man is an adventure game that will involve you with its well-structured narrative and its characters, but it will not give you the same sensations of the great old masterpieces.

The Perils of Man could have been a fairly entertaining adventure, but the good premises soon leave place to a dull and sketchy series of puzzles and locations.

Sadly, because of the lackluster characters in Perils of Man, the game cracks under the weight of its own storytelling.

An ambitious voyage through time that unfortunately loses its way very soon.

There were interesting premises here, but this is a half done game, sadly.

An extremely promising beginning is squandered in a mess of awkward puzzle design, structural dialogue oversights, and a truncated conclusion which, sadly, suggests Perils of Man simply ran out of time and money.

It’s been a shame to watch all of Perils of Man’s promise go to waste. It got its hooks in me, made me eager to jump down the rabbit hole, but it just led to disappointment.
