While the day 1 DLC seems a bit out of place, the game, complete on its own, offers a rich and engaging story. Despite the absence of traditional social elements, this game’s fantastic blend of gameplay, storytelling, and character depth might warrant a revisit to this universe. Persona 5 Tactica proves to be a strategic and narrative gem within the Persona 5 series, making it a must-try for fans and newcomers alike.

Persona 5 Tactica is an excellent addition to the overall Persona 5 property. What at first looks like a cheerfully whimsical bonus spinoff ends up being something that adds to the core themes of the base game, and is impressive in the way it does that. It also backs up with some of the sharpest “fast tactics” play we’ve seen in the genre. I just wish the concept and theme were written better, and I honestly never thought I would say that of a Persona title.

Persona 5 Tactica is a great Tactical RPG, bringing another good story with the iconic group of Phantom Thieves, a mystery that will keep you interested in its resolution and explores a new gameplay style not yet seen in the franchise, although not very challenging. If you are a fan of the series, this is another spin-off that will please you and introduces an addictive new genre.

With a captivating story and filled with significant moments, Persona 5 Tactics seamlessly blends the essence of a renowned franchise with tactical gameplay. Innovative gameplay systems, a balanced adaptation of the Phantom Thieves, and a wealth of content are sure to appeal to both newcomers and veterans.

Just like his Phantom Thieves, ATLUS isn't missing a beat and, against all odds, Persona 5 Tactica has proven to be a solid and enjoyable tactician. Despite P-Studio's inexperience with the aforementioned gaming genre, the combat system seemed functional and profound, also thanks to the numerous mechanics borrowed from the saga and expertly grafted onto the new formula. If you loved the atmosphere, the dynamics and above all the protagonists of the original, put aside any skepticism due to the change of look and let your heart be stolen once again by the amazing Phantom Thieves.

This is a fun RGP that can feel a bit underwhelming during its first few hours, since it tries to welcome inexperienced players, but it manages to shine more and more as we progress.

Persona 5 Tactica is a confident entry into Atlus’ growing catalogue of Persona 5 spin-offs, offering fans more time with the original game’s cast of lovable misfits. The turn-based tactical twist serves as a great vehicle to blend intelligent combat with a delicate story that often leaves you theorising what could come next, both in the narrative and Tactica’s enjoyable arenas. Even without the bustling streets of Tokyo to explore, Tactica summons the same emotional depth you’d expect from the series, with plenty of endearing comical moments, vibrant visual design and sparkling music accompaniment.

Persona 5 Tactica is a fun attempt to bring the ideas and concepts behind Persona 5 into the tactical setting, but at times it can feel more like a proof of concept. The core gameplay is a lot of fun, the story is enjoyable, and it's a good game for Persona 5 fans. It suffers from the cast being so overexposed that it's difficult to get super excited to see them again, and the actual persona element feels a tad lackluster.

Throwing the cast of Persona 5 into a world of turn-based tactics works incredibly well, and the mechanical twists made to support it pay off in a very gratifying way. Outside of that, there are very few risks taken in the narrative – it’s a low-stakes plot that bubbles along, gives the game a stop-start feel, and ultimately feels like the peripheral side-story that it is. But when your favourite characters are tearing up the battlefield and wiping out whole armies of enemies in a big All-out Attack, Persona 5 Tactica feels like the best interpretation of the Phantom Thieves spirit.

Persona 5 Tactica is another successful voyage for the Phantom Thieves. Little is better than the warm feeling inside of revisiting this cast of characters I’ve come to know so fondly and intimately in a new, but familiar style. There are small ways Atlus could’ve made this a more blown-out affair, but it’s never too much of a bother when the game is this solid and satisfying to play. Persona and the tactics genre have finally been fused with great success, creating a thoughtful and smart, but approachable affair. Love or hate how long the Phantom Thieves have stuck around at this point, they’ll at least steal your heart once more.

Persona 5 Tactica is yet another brilliant outing for the Phantom Thieves. We haven’t enjoyed it quite as much as the original Persona 5 or Persona 5 Strikers, but its combat, which is relatively fast-paced and exciting for the genre, has won us over. This is a must-have for anyone that wants to spend more time with Joker and co. And while it’s undoubtedly better to be familiar with the exploits of the Phantom Thieves, it remains welcoming to tactical role-playing fans on the whole.

Persona 5 Tactica brings the Phantom Thieves back together for fans to enjoy in a strategy and role-playing game full of possibilities. A new opportunity to live adventures with Joker and his friends, this time leading a new revolution. On a negative note, it may fall short for those with a lot of experience in this type of games.

A fun tactical RPG for newcomers and veterans to the genre, Persona 5 Tactica is a must-play for any Persona 5 fan thanks to its wonderful cast of new and returning characters, alongside an approachable yet deep combat system. Whilst the story and gameplay aren’t as gripping as its source material, Tactica is still the best Persona 5 spin-off by far. If you’re starting to feel the itch waiting for Persona 6, this latest stint with the Phantom Thieves will help make the holdup a little bit easier and will have you come away smiling.

Persona 5 Tactica is an excellent addition to the popular franchise, bringing a heartfelt story and an addicting tactical-based combat loop. The ending part overstays it’s welcome and becomes fairly repetitive, but that can be overlooked for all the positives the game brings to the table.

The latest Persona 5 spinoff could be called a lot of different things. Strange? A bit, yeah. Minimalistic? Compared to the rest of the series, definitely. But you can also, undoubtedly, call it creative. And, most importantly, you can very easily call it fun! So long as you can get past its slightly odd presentation in the beginning, Persona 5 Tactica promises an enjoyably unique experience that only serves to build upon the world of Persona 5 established by its predecessors. Regardless of whether or not SRPGs are normally your thing, any self-respecting Persona fan owes it to themselves to snag a copy of P5T as soon as they’re able.

Despite minor complaints about the story's pacing, the overall experience of Persona 5 Tactica is rewarding. Engaging combat dynamics and a strategic depth that is hidden at the game’s slower-than-I-wanted start kept me invested in the tactical twists. Persona 5 Tactica successfully delivers a compelling inter-quel that stands on its own within the beloved franchise. Persona 5 Tactica is a solid, enjoyable tactics game that still feels like a Persona game despite not being a true RPG. It successfully blends the Persona universe with a tactical RPG gameplay style. This one can be enjoyed by Persona 5 fans and tactics fans alike.

Persona 5 Tactica is a great excuse to walk back into the world of Persona, and while it’s not the deepest or most challenging tactical RPG out there, it’s still a respectable game and a great addition to the Persona series.

Persona 5 Tactica excels in terms of level design and fun quests, as well as solid gameplay. With that, it's a no brainer for fans of the series to purchase the game. We should note, however, that the story lacks depth and the social aspect. The game is also a lot more compact than other parts in the series, and while that is not necessarily a bad thing, it does feel a bit less complete than we are used to.

Persona 5 Tactical is a good little tactical game that should please fans of the licence, as well as gamers looking for original gameplay. It could also appeal to those who regret that Mario + The Raving Rabbids is exclusive to the Switch. Some of Persona 5's strengths, such as its music and cast, can be found here, although the Chibi design, linear progression structure and lack of ambition in the story greatly limit its potential. Waiting for a promotion to get your hands on it seems to us to be the wisest option.

Persona 5 Tactica is a formidable offering of a strategy RPG and stands as an extremely approachable yet adequately deep entry point for those who may not have tried the genre before. The story on offer here has an interesting mystery at its core but ultimately stands as another excuse for the Phantom Thieves to come out of retirement for another supernatural mystery. Despite the repetition that can sometimes set in, Persona 5 Tactica is a solidly fun title that manages to seamlessly blend elements of the core franchise into a brand new genre.
