As someone who loves retro RPGs yet has never played Phantasy Star before, I'm amazed at how great of a game it is. When you factor in all of the awesome additions in this Sega Ages release, it's a definite must-buy for old-school RPG fans.

The only thing missing is something like an auto-battle feature which would’ve been nice, but I’m also getting old and lazy. If you’re into first-person dungeon crawlers or just stopping by to revisit an old classic then it’s an easy recommendation.

Phantasy Star is the best release so far from the Sega Ages series. It shows off innovation, outside the box thinking, and, after all these years, it is still a blast to play. It’s one for the ages, folks.
