Perhaps the best aspect of the game is that you will care a lot about collecting treasure.

At times, the game seems to focus more on mundane wandering around than on interesting pirate activity, but the action picks up as the story progresses.

The production values are all in place and a game couldn’t ask for better sounds or graphics, but in this case they are wasted on a simple exploration game with occasional and simplistic combat.

Had the game put a little more attention on the weapon combat it would have been a lot more fun, but as it is the battle between pirate vs. pirate in Pirates of the Caribbean is a basic and tedious button-masher.

This lack of depth, coupled with the weak combat and repetitive levels, equals a pirate game that won't even manage to steal away an hour of your precious time.

The game is inadequate and tedious--22 levels of mindless button mashing that will come as a major letdown to anyone who grabs it hoping to relive any portion of the film.

Every fight and puzzle "packed" into this game's 20-plus levels would be found in the first level of most other games.
