Pride of Nations is a deep turn-based strategy game where the player can determine every aspect of a nation. Is a good game, but not for everyone.

Pride of Nations is another incredible work from Paradox. Covering an aspect never considered before in the software house products (the colonial expansion), it delivers solid strategy for old fans.

If you've got the patience to penetrate this game, and to put up with its dawdling, you're in for a treat.

As fresh and insightful as it is slow, Pride of Nations offers major rewards to the patient player.

AGEOD releases new specialist strategy title set in the Colonial Wars. Although we do not find this setting to be the most attractive among all those available, the game takes advantage of the incredible accuracy of the company and its historical research. This is almost a must for fans of the most realistic strategy, resigned to have very few titles of this level of quality.

Everyone who knows other games from developer AGEOD, have at least an idea what they can expect. Pride of Nations is an extremely complex and challenging strategy game with some very good ideas, but all overshadowed from some serious technical shortcomings.

If Pride of Nations is guilty of anything, it's simply guilty of being unimaginative. But what it lacks in imagination it makes up in historical fidelity and sheer depth.

Pride of Nations is a very deep and realistic game that's perfect for strategists that like a firm challenge. Unfortunately you'll get lost in a sea of possibilities and will find it difficult to enjoy the bad graphics.

Intricate detail and strategy make for an excellent value release for the serious war-gamer.

Friends of complex and detailed historical turn-based strategy games will certainly have no problems to invest much time and patience in Pride of Nations, but everyone else will probably despair at the lack of comprehensibility.

if you like to spend a lot of time thinking about organising an army and love historical accuracy, then you might add 10 points to our review score. But if you want to go to battle and prefer a logical system for research and economy, try the demo first.

Overall, this is a great strategy game, with a lot of flavour, and it'll only take a bit of work from the developers to make it excellent. And both the devs and the community are working on it, so we look forward to lots of fun!

The worst thing about Pride of Nations is that it has a much steeper
learning curve than Victoria 2.

Another turn-based strategy of standard "Paradox" quality is more of an add-on than a regular game – five campaigns -however interesting they are-they don't give a full-value game.
