The uncanny shortage of "Diablo" fans with an interest in the obscurities of Chinese history probably limits the game's appeal.

A mediocre game -- but in a good way. It’s got some problems that are patchable, but the pacing is good and there’s always a quest to go on.

It's very cohesive without a trace of linearity.

The graphical elements need some help and the dialogue is overwritten and overacted.

The solo adventure is often captivating, however, and the ancient Chinese atmosphere often overshadows the fact that you're playing the same old action-oriented RPG one more time.

Combat is frustrating noce you get multiple party members, basically because they don't do what you want them to do.

Although the terrible voice acting, bad translations, and poor animations give Prince of Qin a rather unrefined feel, the numerous and interesting locations and quests and the thrill of raising levels are enough to make the game worth a look for role-playing fans.

Control of your characters could've been tighter, and the AI could've been a little more intelligent in battle situations.

A decidedly awkward English translation, some lackluster production values, and a poorly implemented multiplayer mode all prevent it from having the same appeal as the games that influenced it.

PC Gameworld May 3, 2024
The mold is nothing but restrictive, choking off a good idea with subpar graphics and a general feel of incompleteness. This idea deserved better.

An homage to "Diablo II" that fails to capture any of the magic that made that game so much fun.

PC Gamer May 3, 2024
A mediocre romp through a muddied story, with acceptable breaks for engaging combat.

Adrenaline Vault May 3, 2024
Sub-par graphics, poor animation, too much downtime in the action and meager music all detract from what could have been a welcome addition to any gamer's collection.

Nothing more than a mediocre "Diablo II" clone, with several "Baldur's Gate"-like elements - a 2D isometric action RPG.

For every potentially cool element in Prince of Qin, there's a worse one waiting to kneecap it.
