While it can never match up to RedLynx’s brilliant racer, this is very much a budget title. The challenges on each level offer you an interesting way into the game and force you to try new things. Physics are used pretty well, and although they can be a little finicky, they are consistent. The visuals work well enough without being spectacular. However, this is a tough game. At the time of writing this, only two people had gotten past the first area, and I was the only one to reach the third area and beyond. If you fancy some 2D skill-based racing, then this might be worth a bit of your cash and some of your time.

Simple, basic and addictive, Pumped BMX Pro is a good alternative to the Trial's license. Despite of being not easy to pick up, the game remains fun.

Pumped BMX Pro can be an enjoyable experience given its pick-up and play nature and instant restarts. But the difficulty of the challenge soon ramps up seemingly to stand in for a lack of other ideas.

Pumped BMX Pro can be difficult to get with grips with due to how unforgiving the game can be at times, but once you get to grips with the controls then there is some fun to be had to here. It’s just a shame that the audio and visuals are so bare-bones, as they could have made the game more appealing due to how often you will have to repeat the same tracks over and over again.

If you can make hay out of the physics and not run into the maddening frustration that dominated my playtime, then Pumped BMX Pro might just stick the landing. But if you want something that’s more freeing and interesting, you’re better off checking out any one of the other similar games hitting Switch in 2019.
