Overall, Pure Football is a weak attempt at obtaining the football crown. Whilst it offers a unique experience and some promising ideas and concepts, the over-use of meters, the lack of game modes and the poor implementation of features means the title is one to avoid, even at the reduced prices retailers are offering the game for.

The most telling problem though, is that even when playing with the very best squad of footballers that Pure can muster, it just isn\'t engaging and fluid enough to be of interest for more than a couple of matches.

Soccer is a simple sport that relies on execution and precise play. Pure Futbol is executed poorly and is an imprecise mess.

It has some redeeming features and won\'t be the most depressing footballing experience most of us endure in the next 30 days, but rather like most professional footballers, it would do better to focus more on its football than the surrounding pageantry - and on the pitch it can\'t even get the accents right.

FIFA Street meets Mario Strikers, but even as an arcade game this falls well short of world class.

Pure Football is quite simply a terrible game on every level, never mind the fact it is one of the worst football titles available. Everything seems to have been rushed and poorly thought out, and the online is just shoddy. Even short blasts will soon get tiresome and it would probably never get near most respectable rental lists either. Avoid at all costs.

Sad football arcade fails in all aspects – delayed controls, weird ball physics, flat graphics – the result is boredom and an odd parody of football.

If this had been a modern take on the Bitmap Brothers\' Speedball then it could have had some retro merit, but as a football game it\'s rarely anything more than stupid.

A bad game with awful graphics, repetitive sounds and a control system that doesn\'t match this gen gaming standards. A game that soccer lovers must avoid at all costs.
