Purge, despite not having the best graphics ever, is chock full 'o' fun... If you have the means, than by all means, pick it up. It might be what TFC junkies need to hold them over until the big one arrives.

If you’ve got $30.00 (online play is free by the way) and can handle some old school graphics and sound and deal with some learning pains and aggravation … you’ll probably have fun.

Purge is an average game and as such there really isn't much of an online community despite the game being out for over a month. It's just not catching on.

Nearly every game I played (via a cable-modem connection) was hindered by lag issues at some point, and "network disconnects" were common.

The actively playing community is practically nonexistent. A sheer lack of modes hurts, a distinctly copying style mars, and some unpolished, "like to get you stuck between two rocks" level design is unacceptable.

Purge still offers gameplay that is fairly unique. Unfortunately, balance issues, poor level design, and a lack of online players keep it from fully realizing its potential.

those looking for the next "Ghost Recon," "Battlefield 1942," or "Half Life" "killer" will be in for a mighty letdown.

It plays sort of like "Team Fortress" on crack, with a lot of visual flash provided by a new version of the Lithtech engine, but not a lot of substance when it comes to gameplay.

You will be gravely disappointed if you drop some well earned cash for Purge. Good for a few fleeting moments of mayhem and little else, Purge was a disappointment to the extreme.

It doesn't help matters when Purge looks as bad as it does. It's an ugly little game. The maps are genuinely uninteresting, with far too many forced corridors designed to help you set up choke points.
