Summary

Radio Viscera is a fast-paced top-down action game with brutal industrial violence, bloody arcade action and a rebellious spirit, where the walls are just a temporary obstacle.

Push your way through the satanic Y2K cultist compound and dispatch their loyal followers using lethal environmental hazards. The walls surrounding you are no match for your makeshift weapon as you evade, ambush and outmaneuver your relentless pursuers in hope of escape. Fight creatively and blast your own route to victory in search of a cult leader who wants you dead!

Staying in motion and lining up shots feels great, and the rare moments where jump pads, explosives and saw blades coalesce into bloody murder highlight just how much fun Radio Viscera's take on shooting is. It can definitely feel like the game is fighting you at times, and there's little to keep you coming back to the small selection of levels available currently. It's definitely worth checking out if rag dolling enemies and cartoon violence are your bag.

There is a reasonable game lurking somewhere inside Radio Viscera. The early knockings were enough to show me that there is a lot of fun to be had with this concept. However, the attempts at including variety often miss the mark, and a string of technical problems exacerbate the game’s shortcomings. It is certainly a novel attempt to subvert the genre, but, ultimately, it falls incredibly short. Instead, it makes me yearn for a more traditional twin-stick shooter, even if that would offer no surprises.
