Rally Fusion: Race of Champions Critic Reviews

Perhaps the best racing game (for sure the best rally-racing title) I’ve played all year.

Definitely one of the best Rally racing games out in the market.

Climax has created a game which is not only addictive and playable, but keeps you constantly cooing over its lovingly crafted details that so many other rally games leave by the trackside.

It’s deep and highly entertaining but a few flaws and misses hold it back.

For all the greatness though, I still walked away from Rally Fusion feeling like something just wasn’t right and it bothers me that I just couldn’t place my finger on it.

It's genuinely a fusion of racing styles and, in that, it's a good thing.

Ultimately leads to some truly heart-pounding races, especially on the Race of Champions track in Gran Canaria.

People who are a little more partial to straight up racing games will enjoy the jumps, mud, and craziness of Rally racing with some great game modes, great graphics, and a fun arcade style feel.

It’s not the quality of sound or graphics that should make you consider Rally Fusion as your next purchase, it’s the depth of the challenges – the variety of which will take you a decent while to explore and conquer.

Another strong aspect of the game is the realistic weather effects that will have a huge impact on your race.

Although it’s an arcade title, the floaty physics and complete lack of any weight to your car, results in one of the most unsatisfying racers I’ve played.

A middle-of-the-road rally game.

A deep, gorgeous, somewhat alternative view of the Rally genre, Climax Motorsports' Rally Fusion has a lot going for it.

It's lenient, arcade-like, and generally friendly as rally games go. Which means two things: It's easier to come to grips with, but as a result, it's a shallower play.

This wide selection of options is often plagued by repetition and is confusing to navigate because of a poor interface.

One of the better B-list rally games but a bit too lacklustre in the execution to be an essential accompaniment to "Colin" or "WRC."

Compounding the problem is the AI's penchant for playing "bumper cars" if the player manages to pull away from the pack. The computer racers just love to crash into you as a means of slowing you down.

Something that's just too slow. Ultimately, in this sport, slow equals desperately boring.

I had a hard time pulling myself away from the RoC mode, even though my instincts were telling me I was tired of playing it. It has that kind of affect on you, even though it's only a slightly above average race engine.
