Plenty of other platformers can boast similar features - but few have pulled them all together the way that Ratchet & Clank has.

There is a decidedly cool sense of style to Ratchet & Clank. The game feels much like the classic sci-fi movies, very rounded and artistic, almost retro at times.

Visually, Ratchet & Clank is awesome. The immense levels are teeming with life. Outside of the basic minions you have to deal with, many levels are packed to the gills with life.

I would dare say this is the best Playstation 2 game I have played this year. It is somewhat easy, but it is also a very long game.

A gaming masterpiece... Combines action, platforming, and RPG elements convincingly, creating one of the best platformers in recent memory.

The perfect example of what a game should be. With its rich cast of characters, deep gameplay, gorgeous graphics and wonderful soundtrack, R&C packs the ingredients to a perfect platformer and combines them perfectly.

It definitely beats "Sly Cooper," its semi-brother "Jak and Daxter," and even other-platform platformers (pun intended) in most categories.

Don't get me wrong, Ratchet and Clank is an awesome platformer in length and gameplay and just about everything, just I preferred "Sly Cooper’s" gameplay more.

The worlds are visually wonderful and detailed. While the game is somewhat linear and task oriented, the worlds have an openness about them so that you don’t feel trapped like you do in many games.

Revamping the action platformer genre with plenty of action, wacky, impressive gadgets and an interesting storyline, this is what the future of action games should be.

The visuals and audio, mixed with the solid gameplay make for a very enjoyable experience that shouldn’t be passed up by anyone.

Control in the game is excellent, and you'll never walk off a ledge because the controller is slow to respond.

An immensely good time. And because the game is so beautifully crafted, deep with scenarios, long and filled with various challenges, weapons and gadgets, it's a winner.

Ratchet and Clank might have some of the most impressive environments yet in a game of this type.

More than compensating for the cliched plot and characters are the polished gameplay and arsenal of unique weapons.

R & C's innovation comes in the form of all those crazy, non-gimmicky weapons and tools. This is a complex, polished platform gaming machine.

The graphics, the busy environments, the interactivity... every element taken by itself it pretty praiseworthy, stick 'em all on the same disk and they add up to good things.

Gorgeous, enormous and fun.

Rarely does a 3D action game become more fun to beat after its been completed a first or second time. That’s exactly what R&C and its truckload of gizmos delivers.
