Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time Critic Reviews

I'm a casual fan of the series and I still found myself excited to get home and play the game each night the past week. It may be a lot of more of the same, but more of the same has never been so darn addicting.

I really couldn't ask for a better embodiment of everything I've come to enjoy from the series. The constant satisfaction from upgrading creative weaponry, item collection which feels rewarding rather than trivial, and the over-the-top action are all here, and better than they've ever been. With the addition of some interesting puzzles, even more flexibility with your weapons, and a great presentation, Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time is not only the best game in the series, but one that will certainly stand the test of, well, time.

Besides being the best R&C adventure yet, it's definitely one of those rare games that puts a smile on your face from the second it begins.

If this is truly the last Ratchet and Clank release then rest assured that the series goes out with a bang. It’s one of the games of the year and an outstanding exclusive for the Playstation 3.

All you really need to know is that Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time is at the very least on a par with Tools of Destruction and, as such, it’s a game that you need to experience.

The pinnacle of everything that's made the series great from day one pulled together with sheer mastery and polished to a blinding sheen. Insomniac's finest work to date, and that's saying something. You're gonna love the way it looks, I guarantee it.

While Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time doesn’t really evolve the franchise to any significant new level; I did appreciate the clever time puzzles for Clank and the interactive space combat and moon exploration.

While Ratchet and Clank's latest outing would serve as a great starting point for those just discovering the franchise, it's an even wilder ride for longtime fans. The story is packed with surprises, including some shockers about the duo's origins, as well as answers to some longstanding questions.

Another excellent game that delivers on all fronts.

A Crack in Time is simply fun to play. The puzzles are well-designed, the platforming fun without being frustrating, and the battles are a blast ... and it all takes place in a humorous and imaginative galaxy that's a joy to explore.

This series is the closest video games come to having a noteworthy serialized adventure. A Crack in Time shows a good idea and consistent execution is all it takes to keep interest high. Keep ‘em coming, Insomniac!

A truly immersive and extremely enjoyable experience that fans of the franchise shouldn't miss. Its innovative gameplay elements and engaging conclusion to the trilogy make this one the definitive title in the Future series.

There is definitely a feeling of this being more of the same, but enough has been added to the formula to keep that from being a big deal as a negative.

Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time is yet another great entry in a consistently excellent franchise, and the best entry in the series since the PS2 days.

And what can I say but about time, it's refreshing to play something fun and well-made as opposed to those dark shooters or the wealth of games that currently take themselves a little too seriously!

This game has everything, fast action, time travel, a great sense of humor and some of the best visuals of any platformer game. A Crack in Time is easily one of the best PlayStation 3 games of the year!

Massive, rewarding, funny - all you'd expect, plus some cute new twists.

Being a huge fan of Tools of Destruction, I had a sneaking suspicion that I would love Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time. I was right. Insomniac has created a visually appealing game with enough personality to match its good looks.
