It sounds cliched, but it's hard to believe I'm playing a game of this caliber on iOS. All too often we see games that sacrifice gameplay depth for visuals or vice versa. Other than a few minor glitches, Ravensword: Shadowlands is the real deal, and is an excellent open-world RPG with a decent story, ample content, deep character customization and beautiful visuals.

Ravensword: Shadowlands is a must-have for fans of open-world RPGs who want this kind of major experience that they can take with them on their phone, and then sit back and enjoy while on the couch with their iPad.

Ravensword: Shadowlands's enthralling fantasy world, solid RPG mechanics, and wide-eyed sense of adventure make it an epic proposition - despite a couple of obvious weaknesses.

The open world aspect of Ravensword: Shadowlands is one of its big selling points, and it is fun to explore some non-linear adventures on your iOS device.

You should expect much of the same as the previous iteration, only bigger and better as you delve back into this fantasy world.

Admirable attempt to bring Skyrim to your mobile devices. Just shy of excellence.

Ravensword: Shadowlands is a huge, gorgeous game that's by no means perfect, but we're fine with that.

A fairly basic but still entertaining adventure that provides a wonderful glimpse at the future of smartphone and tablet games.

Ravensword Shadowlands is a game that tries to do too much for its own good. While clear effort was placed into visual effects, and creating a wide variety of environments, the elements to fill out these areas are just not present.

Despite a great graphics and a big open world, Shadowlands feels very unpolished. It's still a nice attempt to bring a classic RPG experience on iOS, but three years after The Last King users have higher expectations.

Shadowlands has great potential that's crushed beneath obfuscated mechanics, odd interface design, and a slew of bugs that should have been removed before its release; no doubt updates will smooth things out, but until then the game remains a beautiful disappointment.

The best-case scenario for Ravensword: Shadowlands might be to consider it as a budget RPG, but its lack of depth and minor annoyances make it only partially successful at that.
