Remothered: Tormented Fathers is a wonderful single-player horror experience that any horror fan would enjoy, especially those out there mourning the lack of “real” survival horror games.

Despite the slightly rushed ending, this Italian survival horror does not disappoint: the story is well-written and engaging, the environmental puzzles are good, and so is the non-scripted AI. The icing on the cake is the price, definitely right.

Remothered: tormented fathers is a great stealth-horror game, in which every step could be the last one. During all the adventure you will feel the breath of the death on your neck, but runnig away is definitely the best way to embrace the darkness. A must have for all the fans of hard-core horror games in which the enemy is the stalker like Clock Tower.

Remothered is a brilliant game, with an old school gameplay and a mysterious and engaging narrative background. An Italian success, one of the best indie games of the genre in recent years.

Lovers of classic terror will feel that Remothered: Tormented Fathers, despite the lack of variety of situations, is a good tribute to the genre and we can't wait for its continuation.

Remothered: Tormented Fathers is one of the best horror games released in recent years, thanks to an engaging story and a well-crafted experience inspired by the Clock Tower series and other older games. With an excellent atmosphere, the lack of predictable jump scares and constant tension, Remothered: Tormented Fathers is a game that any true fan of the genre should not miss.

In spite of some shortcomings, Remothered: Tormented Fathers managed to take me on a short trip to an era, where horror games were a terrifying experience, with a notable effort put into aesthetics and atmosphere. As the first entry in a planned trilogy it's a worthwhile attempt, it has however some room for improvement. The foundations are solid and I will definitely be keeping an eye on the following installments.

Remothered: Tormented Fathers is only the first episode of a trilogy, but the starting point built by Darril Arts and Stormind Games is more than good.

Remothered offers a taste of the classic survival horror, reminding us of games like Clock Tower and Haunting Ground, and it does it with great production values for an indie title. It's not perfect, but if you like being chased and relying on the stealthy approach, give it a try.

Remothered is a scary and confident debut from a future auteur.

Despite its skillfully achieved cinematic feel Remothered is not an interactive movie but a full-blooded survival horror – suspenseful, well-written and worth recommending if you’re a fan of the genre.

GameStar February 26, 2018
Despite a lack of gameplay variety, Remothered is a gripping horror experience due to its dense atmosphere.

Remothered: Tormented Fathers is a tribute to horror literature and cinema. Its astounding atmosphere and its well-written scenario aren’t enough to hide its poor graphics and some dated game mechanics.

This is a solid start for the planned trilogy. Mixing stealth, shock effects and survival horror, the experience is truly terrifying - at least in the beginning. Towards the end it becomes routine while the minigames and trial & error sequences become tedious.
