Instead of being a series savior, Dead Aim is more like Pete Rose finally admitting he bet on baseball. Too little. Too late.

Dead Aim while not perfect manages to combine the feel and game play of the RE series and add the light-gun in and it works well.

It’s a nice combination of horror and hysterics, a fresh take long overdue with this style of game.

It'll nonetheless scare the living crap out of would-be heroes and haters alike. Diverging from tradition, this is the game that finally puts the gun survivor series on the map.

What you will find is plenty of labyrinth-style gaming, bone-chilling sound effects, gore galore, finely tuned first-person shooting, amazing CG, stunning creature design and crazy detail.

An interesting action/shooter and a worthy side story for the series. Forget about the ill-fated "Survivor"— Dead Aim is a first-person Resident Evil game that works.

While the game isn't nearly long enough to be considered a true Resident Evil title, it's still up to five times longer than other light gun shooters, is more immersive, looks better, and gives more incentive for replay than other light gun games on the market.

I found it innovative and engrossing, and I think it's a great new direction for both the genre of light gun games and the Resident Evil series. At least until they finally let you play as a zombie...

Dead Aim's targets can act more disoriented than a boatload of Florida retirees.

The controls are clunky, the graphics are below average, and the story is plain. The best things about Dead Aim are its concept and entertainment factor.

A very cool combination of gameplay elements, and the most intriguing light-gun title for a home console since Elemental Gearbolt (anyone remember that one?)

The most fun I've had with a Resident Evil game in years.

As a purchase, its replay value is a bit dubious, but for the skilled shooter, and even the casual action/adventure enthusiast, it's a terrifyingly amusing look at the world of low-budget horror flicks.

At its core, this is the most entertaining Resident Evil game we've ever played, and easily the best use of a light gun ever. With a bigger and more focused game attached to it, this could have been a must buy classic, but instead has all the hallmarks of a classic weekend rental.

Dead Aim did something we didn't expect -- it made us want to play it until we beat it (a feat that previous Gun Survivor versions made us cringe over).

GameSpot May 7, 2024
It's not the best Resident Evil game, and it isn't a stellar light-gun game, but Dead Aim creates an interesting, unique hybrid of the two, and that is a commendable feat.

Total Video Games May 7, 2024
Whilst Dead Aim is executed sort of well, it just doesn't have anything memorable, is too short to be an engrossing one-player game and doesn't have many compelling reasons to be played through time and time again, because of the adventure elements, that are somewhat boring if you just want to shoot and shoot.

This obscure video game brew not only sounds like a garbled mess, it plays like one as well.

PSX Nation May 7, 2024
Good graphics, a short quest (by “RE” standards), mediocre music/sounds and a permanent sense that you’re playing an action game that’s trying to be a “House of the Dead”-type shooter (or is it a light-gun shooter that’s trying to be survival horror adventure?) diminish Dead Aim’s appeal as it moves along.

The game does suffer from a bit of a slowdown when there are numerous zombies on-screen.
