Even amidst the farming sim renaissance, Roots of Pacha cultivates a charming, community-driven vision of the Stone Age that’s endlessly satisfying and always enchanting.

Roots of Pacha expertly builds upon foundations from other farming and life sim games while adding its own creative ideas in the process. The fun minigames and quality of life improvements make it a joy to play, and the relaxed atmosphere is perfect for unwinding. Along with the beautiful artwork and music, it's easy to spend hours building out your farm, exploring the caves, or improving your clan relationships.

Roots of Pacha is a refreshing take on the farming/life sim genre, with great ideas and features. However, there are little annoyances that might turn off some.

Its like if Stardew Valley meets prehistoric era. It's good as the game we refered and it takes inspiration (maybe an excessive one) but transforms all the mechanics to create his own personality.

Roots of Pacha is a cozy farming and life simulation at the dawn of humanity. There are cute animals, great NPCs and a lot to explore, discover or develop. The successful Stone Age simulation, with only a few stumbling blocks, makes a Stardew Valley heart beat faster.

What’s truly fulfilling about Roots of Pacha is the lesson of how everyone plays a role in the development of civilization. Advancement is often attributed to individuals and I won’t soon forget the village who discovered that grain could be converted into alcohol. But seeing that innovation fuel additional ones elevates Roots of Pacha over most of its peers. While Soda Den didn’t invent the agronomic sim, adding a sense of community and a representation of human development is the kind of innovation the genre truly deserves.

Roots of Pacha was built with skill and dedication by a small team and deserves your undivided attention: far from being a Stardew Valley clone, it offers an adventure full of content and heart, in the name of collaboration and progress. Some technical issues notwithstanding and considering that it is common occurrence for rural life simulators to "grow" over time thanks to the feedback of their communities, we were amazed by the very high quality of the adventure proposed by Soda Den, even if some minigames are a bit repetitive and the "hook" for the exploration sections of the caves is not very effective at the beginning.
