Rush for Berlin Critic Reviews

A fun title that doesn't take itself super serious. A good breath of air for a subject that sorely needs it.

If you are a fan of RTS games and are interested in taking a fresh new look at WWII then I highly recommend checking out this game. Great details, fun gameplay, interesting storyline for the German and French Campaigns all combine to make a great title.

It’s surprisingly inventive, filled with a ton of destruction and explosions, and overcomes its old-hat wartime premise with a durable mix of complexity and fun.

I really did like how you only have to manage time in this game as it gives you a greater sense of urgency on the things that have to be done.

Rush for Berlin has some of the best sound effects in any wargame to date.

With it’s unique offerings it breaks away from the historical pack.

It may not be original, but Rush to Berlin is fun, which makes it worth considering for a second, third, or fourth tour of duty.

The pounding soundtrack, the huge campaigns and the four different approaches with each side you control will certainly make this one to keep the midnight oil burning for strategy gamers.

It's nothing new, it's nothing that's going to set the worrls of RTS gaming alight, but for a time it's as pleasingly enjoyable as Stormregion's other past offerings.

What gets it by is its highly polished presentation and a refinement of the tried and true mechanics that we've seen in countless other games.

Overall Rush for Berlin just feels a lot better than most of the other RTS games out there. It’s a great blend between realism and fast-paced gameplay wrapped in a solid package that RTS fans will love. They’ll love it, that is, if they can get over this being yet another themed WWII game in a sea of olive drab releases.

This would be a good choice for a new gamer looking for a good RTS WWII title, but the veteran gamer might feel a case of déjà vu because nothing truly sets RFB apart from anything else.

Rush for Berlin is not groundbreaking or a game for the ages, but it doesn’t have to be those things to be fun. If you’re a strategy fan and you can put up with a few annoyances, you’ll find yourself having a good time with the game.

I liked Rush for Berlin and found myself returning to it many times. Unfortunately after about an hour or two, I would grow weary of the slow and repetitive progress I was making across the map.

A very good representation of the WWII RTS formula by pros who really know their way around the Battle of the Bulge. If any game is capable of convincing genre veterans of shivering their way through the Battle of the Bulge one more time, it's this one.

Rush For Berlin is a unique and well-made Real Time Strategy war game. Using unit tactics and challenging gameplay you will have hours of fun defeating the enemy, whichever one you choose to fight against.

The single-player campaign is varied and hardly ever falls into genre convention, which makes Rush for Berlin a decent WWII strategy romp.

Multiplayer is a fun aside, but be prepared for your PC to struggle with the choking throng of units on screen.

In the end, Rush for Berlin is still quite enjoyable despite its flaws and should be credited with making a good effort, especially since it could have easily been mislabeled as just another generic World War II title.

No surprise, the A.I. rolls over on anything less than Hard, and getting units into tactically feasible formations can be like herding drunken snails.
