In terms of what the expansion offers, I would say it has 2 good new character types and a very good expanded single player experience. If you are a fan of the original Sacred, you should definitely spend some time with this.

It does manage to offer a good balance of tweaks as well as new content. If you never managed to make it through Sacred, then it has to be said, Underworld probably won’t be enough to rekindle your interest, while if you’re a hardcore fan then it should go without saying that this is a worthwhile purchase.

If you're looking to revive an old friend, Underworld will bring Sacred back from the dead to live another virtual lifetime.

A rather substandard and short add-on to a decent Diablo clone. Fans of the genre might like it but others should not bother.

The Sacred Underworld expansion is the natural progression for any Sacred fans still playing the original release. With the Underworld expansion installed, Ancaria is now officially 40% bigger with even more to see and do, it doesn’t quite forward the game much but it does offer a diversion until Sacred 2 hits the shelves.

Underworld doesn't fundamentally change Sacred, but it provides worthwhile value to an already solid product.

I like the Sacred universe and RPG fans will too; problem is, there is plenty other RPGs out there that bring a bit more competition for your highly sought-after gaming dollar.

When you get down to it, if you enjoyed Sacred, then you'll no doubt enjoy Underworld; it pretty much offers more of the same, but at a ramped-up level.

As before, there's nothing here that's massively wrong, but nothing exactly right either, and in particular, nothing that "Diablo" didn't do just as well.

Sacred was a frustrating game to get used to, but surprisingly the expansion improves on the title incredibly. The game is somewhat more bearable to play now, but there are still too many flaws to consider this series a worthwhile purchase for hack n' slash veterans. Hopefully Sacred 2 will satisfy our needs.
