As soon as I had made peace with my spaghetti on a conveyor belt, this Satisfactory Player started building cathedrals
The game's recent release of 1.0 was not the first time that Satisfactory players shared impressive factory builds. Although you can get by in Satisfactory using a haphazard gnarl with conveyor belts and electricity lines, as I have often done, it offers plenty of logistic and aesthetic components to build pristine and professional industrial facilities. Calpurnius777, a redditor, decided to experiment with High Gothic architecture where others had made beautifully-finished factories.
You can see in the video above that Calpurnius777 decided to take a break from building factories and instead started building cathedrals. It's an understatement to say that the work is impressive. The pieces were designed for industrial use, but when placed in Satisfactory’s otherworldly forest, the build looks like something from Elder Scrolls or Nightingale. Calpurnius777 has found ways to replicate stained glass, pointed archways, rib vaults, and more. All that's left is a few flying buttresses.
Reddit's reactions range from astonishment to existential crisis. "What game are you playing again?" One Redditor asked.
Another commenter said, "Man, over here I'm making small factories with a tall wall so I can install a wall connector for power and over here this pioneer is making a home for Doctor Strange." "Just awesome."
The cathedral construction almost makes me wonder how much I could achieve if I opened another factory. A cathedral may be beyond my abilities, but I'm sure I could cobble together some columns and supports to create a space pioneers Parthenon. I'm certain there are enough factory parts to build a decent colosseum. I think with enough practice I could build a satisfactory Hagia Sophia.
Or I could just stop when I have to keep track of all my conveyor math. It's nice to imagine, though.
