Even before the 1.0 launch, the Satisfactory team had already begun to plan what they would add afterward.
Snutt Treptow is the face of Satisfactory. He was not going to reveal the next update to the factory-building game, but he did say that we will hear more soon. Treptow was asked if the developer is reevaluating its next steps in the game after the release of 1.0.
His answer? "Not really."
"We haven’t yet cemented what our plans will be," he said. "We're trying figure out what to do next. It's a process, because consoles are involved: We're figuring how to support the game on both PC and consoles and what the future will look like. This is a massive process. In the near future we'll probably announce a bit about what we plan to do next."
Treptow stated in a community Q&A from July that Coffee Stain planned to continue work on Satisfactory even after version 1.0. However, the exact shape of this work was not yet determined.
The incredible builds that players have created with the cosmetic options that were added in Satisfactory 1.0, I wouldn't surprise to see even greater variety and customization in the coming months. However, additions to the core automation and factory building systems seem less likely to happen in the near future, as Treptow stated that each one has "a large ripple effect" which the developers must be aware of.
