The surprising thing about Scaler is the game is just plain fun to play. The gameplay is robust with reasonably challenging puzzles to solve, the control system is enjoyable as Scaler is easy to move and smooth, and the story is humorous with a solid plot.

It's fun, it's challenging, and it's breathtaking to look at, even if you are watching somebody else play it.

Most experienced gamers will find this game a little on the short side, but most kids, the actual target audience, will probably think it's just right.

What it lacks in innovation it more than makes up in style, humor and solid game mechanics. Controls feel smooth and responsive and the action is always brisk. The inclusion of evolutionary transformations is an especially nice touch.

It looks amazing, sounds great, and most importantly, it's a lot of fun. What's even more impressive is that all of this entertainment is offered at such a reasonable price.

I honestly recommend the Xbox version because it looks better then the rest. It is also kind of hard to find a platform title for the Xbox that is geared toward children. So check it out.

If you are on a limited budget and need a game for the kiddies, than look no further than Scaler!

The mixture of varied and well executed gameplay, along with tolerable graphics make for basic yet entertaining action that even grandma can enjoy, well, at least until she has a photosensitive seizure.

When it is all said and done, Scaler isn't much more than your functional, slightly-but-not-much above average platformer. For $20, there are certainly worst buys and the game would complement perfectly "Ty 2" and "Tak 2" for a platform-hungry younger gamer.

It isn't without its faults, in particular the controls, hokey dialogue and cheap voice acting, but if you can see past these minor imperfections, you'll discover that Scaler is a first-rate platformer that gives the offerings of some big-name characters like Crash Bandicoot a real run for their money.

To be fair, the game is aimed at kids and it's by no means poor – the fact that it's available for less than twenty quid doesn't exactly hurt either.

Like a welcome blast from the past, taking us back into pure platform-filled levels with a great range of designs, all enhanced by the gameplay variation that the five transformations provide.

It's not entirely engaging or original, but it is fun. It's attractive, sounds nice, and the story-for all its faults-can be ignored safely with no detrimental effects.

This is a strictly average game in a market saturated with this kind of fare.

It's no "Mario 64," and an occasionally irksome camera frustrates, but Scaler is an enjoyable $20 game.

A sweet ride (especially for a value title) if you can stomach the almost blindingly psychedelic graphics and the talkiest character since Awesome Possum.

This just isn't an especially engaging game, so it's unlikely that anyone past the youngest of audiences will get too much fun from it.

Obviously not the most groundbreaking title out there, but a solid title that, with a bit more concentration on the presentation front, could have scaled the heady highs of platformers.

Adults will hate the characters so much they'll probably never get past the second world, whereas the children will be turned off by the games dark look and steep challenge (especially towards the end).

One of the biggest issues with this game is the common sense factor, meaning that the common sense of a person starts to balk at some of the things expected in the game.
