An excellent turn-based strategy game taking place in from feudal Japan that will delight all field tacticians, who miss a more exotic battlefield and different warfare styles.

Sengoku Jidai: Shadow of the Shogun continues from where Pike and Shot: Campaigns left off, introducing a rarely visited setting of feudal Japan, including battles in the Korean peninsula. The simple, but robust turn-based game mechanics, along with appealing visuals make the battlefield shine, but the thin campaign layer leaves a lot to desire.

An in-depth wargame featuring the titutar Sengoku Jidai, the Japanese invasion of Korea and some other interesting scenarios. Overall, a very good battle simulator.

Without being too vague and wishy-washy, this is a good game that is purely good because it doesn’t throw ton’s of information at you, it doesn’t overwhelm you with options and situations.

Sengoku Jidai: Shadow of the Shogun is a turn-based strategy game that is very demanding for the player, but it rewards you with very funny gameplay and its historical accuracy.

While Sengoku Jidai’s historical accuracy and tactical focus made a strong first impression, I found that the more I played and understood its mechanics, the less I enjoyed it.
