The best $20 computer game we've ever played.

An essential purchase for anyone who's ever enjoyed being on the right end of a shotgun.

Sam (sets itself apart) by it’s sense of humor and easy to learn controls. It’s also one of the brighter shooters, with lots of outside and aboveground levels mixed in with all of the dungeon crawling.

The most fun I have had in a straight shoot'em up FPS in a hell of a long time.

Nice to see a game that gets back to the basics of FPS genre with puzzles, storyline, TONS of killing bad guys, and end-of-level bosses.

One of the most impressive features of the Serious engine is the sheer number of models it can handle at one time without any noticeable slowdown.

Brainless running and gunning is an underappreciated way to waste a couple of hours with a great-looking game.

Serious Sam has some of the most exciting and addictive shooting action in years.

(The engine) not only renders huge environments and complex architectures with nary a hiccup, but can also handle massive amounts of enemies and, in general, kick your ass without a second thought.

Call me a glutton for punishment, but I've never been so addicted to a shooter. Maybe it's the fact the game keeps hammering me, but I can't get enough. I can't tell you how many times I muttered "this is ridiculous" or "you've got to be kidding" while playing the game, but I still love it.

It's a great looking, fun-filled game that has plenty of visceral thrills and absolutely, positively the biggest battles in any shooter to date.

An old-school, first-person shooter -- and damn proud of it. That it also happens to be white-knuckle thrilling, spectacularly beautiful, and totally captivating is what makes it so special.

While Serious Sam may not reinvent the first-person shooter, Croteam did a great job of taking the genre back to its roots, making one of the most action-packed games since "DOOM."

It actually lives up to the hype, and even surpass is it if you can believe that.

If you like mindlessly shooting things (like me), buy this game! Well worth the bang!

Though this game features cartoon-like violence with human creatures to kill, these shortcomings are all culturally based (who says cartoon violence isn't bloody or shocking? and who says we only have to kill humans?).

It's not the most prolific game released recently, and with some real zeal you can probably thrust through it in a matter of hours, not days. But for the price…

Plays a lot like "Doom," but with more enemies. Way more. Like, the most EVER. And they just keep coming and coming, like roaches to a donut.

Far from what its name might suggest but as trigger happy fun goes, you won't get much better. Serious Sam? Rubbish name, great game.
