Even though puzzles are a bit on the easy side, narration, world building and mature themes are top notch and make Shardlight a beautiful graphic adventure.

This new adventure game from Wadjet Eye is a small, retro-looking gem. Not so difficult to play (especially if you're a fan of the genre), it tells a great, captivating and deep story, set in a dramatic dystopia, that will stay in your heart for a long, long time.

Post apocalyptic dread, a society on the brink of revolution and The Reaper Himself stalking the poisoned skies. Shardlight combines the eerie splendor of Primordia’s abandoned wasteland with a poignant political narrative. Easily one of Wadjet Eye’s finest releases.

Shardlight is another excellent point-and-click adventure game from the small but fiercely dedicated and skilled bunch at Wadjet Eye Games.

In many ways Shardlight is a typical WadjetEye adventure game - low-res graphics, common sense puzzle solutions, wildly imaginative, well written and hugely entertaining.

It's really a pleasant surprise: a game that will keep you busy with interesting challenges, and delivers some memorable storytelling.

Shardlight delivers a great old-school adventure, with a great pace and a very interesting take on some topics usually hard to deal with.

A solid point-and-click which is a worthwhile purchase for fans of the genre.

A traditional point & click adventure without the cliches and problems of the genre. The ending feels rushed and the game is overall slightly too easy, but otherwise Shardlight is a treat.

Shardlight manages to build its quirky post-apocalyptic world into something that will leave a lasting impression, though the same can’t be said for the story it tells.

An interesting adventure, but too easy and simple. Rather than making us feel like Poirot, it reminds us why the genre has lost its former glory days to lead to more comfortable adventures: we had to use our little gray cells.

It’s not all perfect — some of the dialogue is a little clunky and not all of the puzzles are super exciting — but it’s a solid game that explores some new ground.

Set in a dystopian post-apocalyptic world, Shardlight is another great point & click adventure game from Wadjet Eye that might not have the greatest graphics, but tells a grounded story of scary, but possible future of mankind.

Offering a stylistically refreshing approach to a post nuclear world, Shardlight is a pixelated journey through the human darkness.

The new adventure of Wadjet Eye Games is a small masterpiece. Easy to complete, fit ascinates the player thanks to a deep plot and a protagonist admirably characterized.

Shardlight is pretty damned decent though. The story’s a bit more straightforward than some other Wadjet Eye games, it ends a bit too abruptly, and a few of the secondary characters needed fleshing out, but all-in-all it makes for an engaging six or seven hours in a world with some great ideas—a bit like Dead Synchronicity, except with an ending. Very grim. Very adult...I just wish Wadjet Eye’s tech matched its talents.

A lack of originality and some storytelling flaws hurt it a little, but the end result still has enough visual flair and enjoyable bits of narrative to easily earn a recommendation.

For those aching for a true slice of traditional gaming from yesteryear, I suggest you at least try the demo available on Steam.

A classic point-and-click adventure game with an interesting plot and post-apocalyptic mood, which successfully focuses on storytelling, but forgets a little bit the gameplay on the way.
