Silent Hill 2 developers explain why you won't be using UI in the remake. Instead, James will glare at everything devilishly
Bloober Team has revealed a few facts about Silent Hill 2 to help players get excited for the game's release.
Bloober recently revealed the "most immersive method to play Silent Hill 2" in a tweet. "You'll be able to turn off all the UI elements!" We've created a "90s Filter" with color correction, screen adjustments, and grain effect to complete the old-school feel."
The picture Bloober Team added to this looks pretty spectacular, even without the UI cluttering the screen. All the pretty pictures aren't enough to keep players from getting lost in Silent Hill.
The developers have already considered this issue. Bloober Team explained in a tweet that instead of relying solely on the UI for hints, you can now figure out where the next goal is by just looking at James. "Without UI player guidance will be naturally directed by the game's graphics, sound effects, as well as James' behaviour," Bloober Team explained. "He will look at important spots, and display different facial expressions and animations when wounded."
It's funny to me that James will become more frustrated and sad as I move away from the goal. It sounds like a fun and effective way to make Silent Hill 2 more frightening.
Many other players seem to agree, as there are many replies from players who are excited about the feature and the game. One player said, "This is 100% the way to play Silent Hill 2 without UI and being guided by visuals." "I can't wait to play this game."
Silent Hill 2's mood has changed dramatically in the last month. Bloober Team was initially apprehensive about taking on the remake. The developers are well aware of this. Since the preview was released, players have put aside their fears and are now excited for the remake.
Joshua Wolens was pleasantly surprised with the preview. After spending three hours with it, he concluded that Bloober Team had not ruined this classic.
