The only two things that don’t fly in House Party are illegal substances and Robert Downey Jr., which is too bad since there aren’t any Sim Cops on patrol.

Get your soiree (not to mention your freak) on with this great addition to the Sims amazing stable of add-on packs.

Actually the only deterrents to partying all the time are comfort points, energy levels, work schedules and NPC Sims that sometimes don’t like to be called late at night.

Not only does it introduce a host of new objects, carpeting tiles and wallpaper schemes for you to use in your perpetual quest for the perfect theme or feel, but it also revolutionizes the entire party dynamic.

A pack for Sims addicts who love the first two installments, but still want more.

House Party's new features, which focus primarily on social interaction, enhance the basic game considerably, since they let you throw wild parties and make building houses even more enjoyable.

There is one thing, typical for most parties, missing - there is no spirits. I never saw any of the Sims getting drunk and imbarising themselves however hard I tried to make them do so.

Some of the new additions that House Party brings are fun, but it doesn't change the game all that much.

For the rest of us, the expansion pack really isn't practical, essential, or even ever-entertaining.

But hey, if your party is good enough, Drew Carey himself may come over and hang for awhile. What a goal, eh?

Once the initial novelty of letting your Sims do a Petula Clarke has worn off, there isn't actually a massive amount of new stuff here.

A fine purchase for Simholics, but don't expect too much bang for your buck.

A fun way to put your Sims into a larger party, but other than that, you can count this more as a "Livin' Large 2.5" than anything else.

Despite the amount of promise left unfulfilled in this second add-on, House Party will be a welcome addition if you are still actively nurturing your sims.

There are a few wonderful new items added to enhance the lives of us Sims, but they're novelties rather than staples and they won't exponentially increase your Sim's appreciation for their environment or your appreciation for the game - and for $29, it should.

While the pack does allow you to throw an amazing party, it doesn't do anything else -- and parties lose their novelty pretty fast.

About as worthwhile an investment as Russ Abbot's Party Atmosphere single, although it has to be said that the single represents considerably better value for money.
