Phenomenal...Instead of shoehorning the Xbox 360 adventure onto the App Store with a virtual analog stick, Activision played to the iPhone and iPad's strengths, creating a game players of all ages can enjoy. Bravo.

Whether you're a fan of the franchise or simply love a good endless mobile game, Skylanders Cloud Patrol is an absolute must buy. The fast-paced finger-drawing, variety of enemies and formations, and plenty of upgrades to unlock will keep you coming back again and again.

As an application primarily aimed at kids and to tie into the Skylanders brand, Skylanders Cloud Patrol succeeds; however, it also has momentum and potential for being a great experience outside its target audience, which puts it into a league of its own.

Skylanders Cloud Patrol is actually a shining example of how a big license can jump on to the platform. Without the branding, this would still be a fun game to play, and for fans of the franchise, it integrates fairly well. The characters could have been better used, but other than that, this is a solid little shoot 'em up.

I had a good time playing Cloud Patrol for a few minutes here and there, but I could never see myself playing for extended marathon sessions. That addictive "one more game to improve my score" quality isn't there.
