Sonic CD is a great game. I paid $300 for an attachment and $50 for the game back in the early '90s to see Sonic at his best. Now all you need is $5 and a few minutes for a file download. Sega could have easily charged twice as much for this much-loved classic.

Basically, I love this game. And I love it in a way that both fans and Sonic CD newcomers should be able to love it too. Fans will love the care and attention given to the conversion of one of the all-time great Sonic games.

This is a gift for Sonic fans. It is not only one of the best Sonic games ever made, but also a great port and adaptation, something not that frequent. Its price is also helpful to recommend it. Although the game doesn't have any improvement in graphics, they have aged well.

Given the countless enhancements to this version of Sonic CD, it's surprising that Sega is selling it for a mere $5. Make no mistake: no corners have been cut, and the developers have put in more than enough extra content (in the form of audio and video options) to properly pay tribute to Sonic's finest spin.

One of the best Sonic games ever get a splendid re-release with everything intact and a few good extras. This is a history lesson that every gamer should enjoy.

Sonic CD is a labor of love, and for fans, it is a chance to finally play this often talked-about game. If you enjoy classic Sonic games, this is a must own. The amount of polish that went into it is impressive, especially for the low price tag. Sega may have soiled Sonic's name in previous years, but after Generations and now this, I think he is back on the right track to glory.

Well bad news for a-holes, but good news for Sonic fans: Sonic CD is on XBLA, lovingly recrafted, and you can all enjoy the hell out of it.

More than just a classic action game, Sonic CD is an exemplary port of a retro game to a modern platform.

Sonic CD is Sonic at his finest: fast, fun, and challenging. The past and future versions of each stage coupled with collecting every Time Stone means a good deal of replay value in a small package. Decent controls and a good soundtrack make the game an overall solid package.

Sonic CD's overall package is bare-bones, with the option for the original Japanese music and a time trial mode being the only notable additions to the game, but with the tiny price point (only 400 MS points) it's an easy thing to forgive.

One of the top-quality Sonic games, even if it's a bit weirder and a bit patchier. The lack of slickness ends up being a positive - this is a game that'll stick in your memory, and encourage you to keep coming back to it. Like Sonic? You'll like this one.

There is no doubt that this is the definitive version of a little-known, much-loved title. Sega's humility in collaborating with Whitehead, and artistry in bringing the game's strengths to the fore, is a striking achievement in 2011. For that reason, for the first time in a long time Sega, deserves its richest asset - and for the first time in a long time, those fans deserve Sega.

Complaints aside, I've really enjoyed the recent time I've spent with Sonic CD. The game begins to shine after you get accustomed to traveling through time and exploring each unique level. This downloadable rerelease is an easy choice for fans of the series or anyone interested in some pure platforming goodness.

Sonic the Hedgehog has had it rough lately thanks to a number of middling games that have departed from the spirit of the first three games. Sonic CD is best served to those who played the original games back in the day and want a chance to relive the glory days. If you've never played Sonic CD and are a fan, then by all means spend the five bucks to play a game that's wildly different from any other.

If you're enticed by the thought of a reunion with Sega's blue mascot from when he starred in some of the best games of their age, this is for you. Sonic CD is a rerelease made with love, mixed with a dosage of nostalgia and served in a way that will make most gamers admit that Sonic has something Mario doesn't.

Sonic CD is already eightteen years old, but it's still one of the greatest Sonic games. Everything that was good in the 1993 version for SEGA Mega-CD, is still good in the remake. The levels have a beautiful design and the high definition tweak certainly strengthens that. A pity that SEGA didn't add anything to the remake, some bonus content would have been nice.

Brief, reasonably entertaining and mercifully cheap.

If you missed the old days when Sega MegaDrive was the ruling console you now have the chance to understand why the blue hedgehog was so popular.

Sonic Cd may not look pretty, game wise though it is a solid fun romp in the retro gaming realm.
