A pleasant surprise.

Spaceforce offers up a beautiful, dynamic universe to explore, though it suffers from a steep learning curve.

Should have been great, could have been great; but ends up just being a better than average attempt at doing something a little different.

A graphically amazing, highly playable engine is let down by a fairly predictably storyline and repetitive mission structure.

SpaceForce: Rogue Universe has some great concepts and gameplay elements, but unfortunately the unintuitive interface and lack of tutorial will keep many gamers from seeing them.

After the frenzy of battle wears off, so does the appeal of SpaceForce. It's not a bad game; it just goes through the motions.

Grinding through battles in Space Force feels more like calculating an endless string of simplistic algebra problems than braving interstellar depths and doing battle with sinister warring factions. Such a dearth of character makes this a forgettable experience.
