Sadly no way to take your creations online but a great single player platform adventure game where you imagination is it's limits.

Spore Hero is an adventure for the younger generation of the Spore fans!

Spore Hero is fun for the most part, but a few frustrating annoyances mean it falls just short.

Spore Hero is, without question, one of the few games that reach the summit of originality. This game is fun and the creature creation tool is great. If you enjoy the genre, or want a decent entry into the concept, Spore Hero will be an enjoyable, if simple experience into the wonderful world of action game.

Spore is an enjoyable (if slightly short) Zelda-lite adventure. However, the creation and evolution aspects -- major parts of what made the original game so impressive -- have taken a back seat to a run-of-the-mill equipment upgrade grind with some minor aesthetic variations. Spore Hero is a fun game; it’s just not necessarily a Spore game.

The game may be too easy for some, but this spin-off adventure made it to Wii mostly unscathed.

Spore Hero is sure to win over fans of the Spore franchise, thanks to its deep creature creator modes, vibrant presentation, and unforgettable characters. Unfortunately, the whole package feels basic despite its ambitions; the fighting is too elemental in both controls and ideas, the adventure mode feels like one big fetch quest, and the missions become bland and repetitive.

Spore Hero has become a good game which also looks nice. However the game is too easy and therefore only fun for children.

Spore Hero has some great features. The monster-making in and of itself is deep and satisfying, and engaging. There are tons of body parts, and the manner in which players will earn them through the quests has the potential to keep players questing away. Unfortunately, the battles and dancing games aren't nearly as well-designed, and cannot be avoided. Best for older children who aren't easily frustrated.

Aside from the creature editor -which is indeed a nice touch- Spore Hero is a pretty forgettable action game: it's kind of slow paced, the minigames aren't always very good and the combat system is really poor. It's a game for kids, and that's about it.

The most interesting thing from the PC original put into a simple platform game that's marred by some unexciting minigames.

Although with some quite good ideas, the final result is a bit disappointing. It has a design which ends up becoming repetitive, and not so well made combats.

Overall, Spore Hero's not horrible or even bad for that matter, but it sure isn't great.

Even with the problems I’ve had in my time with Spore Hero I didn’t hate the game. The adventure offered enough encouragement to plow through thanks to the fun loving creatures you encounter along the way, and the sense of customizing to turn the main character into nearly anything you want.

If you're looking to have some fun using the main characteristics of the original Spore, 'Hero' won't disappoint you, but don't expect anything like the PC version because you won't find it in here.

Creature creation is catchy, but the basic gameplay lacks depth.

The game uses the Wii control in a creative way and is just as cute and cozy as Spore should be. But since you can’t share your creatures online and due to some game mechanics that repeats themselves over and over again this game isn’t as fun as its big brother on PC.

The adventure is a respectable length, but it's a slog getting through. The off-line Sporepedia is kind of pointless, as are the multiplayer arena battles, since battling offers no shred of enjoyment.

Irritatingly, this game does so little wrong apart from being average and run of the mill. The biggest irk is the lack of anything from the Spore franchise that made it stand out.

It's a disappointment that a franchise so (ostensibly) devoted to endless creativity could produce a game so limited in its meaningfully creative options. In the end, Spore Hero never becomes anything more than a lighthearted but uninspired platformer -- and a waste of the brand's creative potential.
