Squad Leader Critic Reviews

Engaging.

I'm not really sure just what active Squad Leader and Advanced Squad Leader gamers are going to make of this title, but I don't see many of them being pleased with the digital version of their game.

The mechanics of the game appear to put a stop to this trend towards realism. Squad Leader is unable to move past the grid system and lacklustre graphics.

Loudly, pointedly, and conspicuously refuse to buy this game or have anything to do with it.

Uninspired graphics, technical flaws and a clunky interface leave it floundering in the channel.

A title bearing the honorable Avalon Hill franchise name deserves much better than dated graphics, flawed gameplay, and shoddy voice acting. I don’t know what Hasbro Interactive/Microprose was thinking.

Poor production values and a woefully dated game engine make us pine for what could have been, and we are left with this modern relic.

Clunky and unpolished.

When the time came to finish playing Squad Leader, I couldn’t uninstall it quick enough. Mentally scarred from the horrific experience, the only thing that kept me going was the chance to warn others about it.

Its interface is horrendously convoluted, its gameplay painfully tedious and sluggish, and its graphics are outdated.

This game goes where so many better games have gone before. Games with better graphics, sound, physics models and combat systems.
