Star Trek: Klingon Academy Critic Reviews

One of the best space flight sims out there, with a believable interface for commanding a large capital ship.

Everyone and everything in your life, including such necessities as food, sleep and bleeding your bulging bladder, (will be) ignored in your pursuit to finish.

Finally... a good "Star Trek" game. Will wonders never cease?

There's something undeniably exciting about gigantic ships battling it out just above the surface of a gas giant...like Vincent Lopez for instance.

While this may be something a few people may not like, rather opting for a more scripted mission structure, "Klingon Academy" does one thing I think more games should make us do; use our brains.

Hard core space simmers will be turned off by the arguably slow action, but the more "I'm the captain" trekkies might like the added options for controlling your ship.

A deep, intense, and well-written space combat simulator, but more implementation masks many of these good traits and can frustrate all but the serious gamer.

The gameplay, while not without its shortcomings, is light years beyond "Starfleet Academy," making it one of the best battle command starship simulators on the planet.

Maybe the best entry in the all-too-often disappointing "Star Trek" category.

One major problem to be aware of is that the game crashes occasionally.

A grand illustration of a space shooter/space sim hybrid, yet is incessantly hindered by inherent shortcomings and idiosyncrasies.

Good graphics, excellent documentation, and plenty of Klingon scalawags can't save "Klingon Academy," not entirely at least.

An extremely ambitious simulation that provides plenty of original gameplay but fails to adequately refine its presentation.

It's not a bad game, but there are many other games of this type that play a lot better and ultimately simulating the large vessels from the "Star Trek" universe is it's undoing.
