Star Wars: Obi-Wan Critic Reviews

While this program might not be as intense as "Halo," it will be a definite delight for Star Wars fans, and should even satisfy those who are RPG fans.

Although Obi Wan sounds like a duck with a rock in his throat, it was funny and other voice acting sounded pretty much as it should.

If you can get over the poor visuals, Obi Wan could be your new all-time favorite Star Wars game, due to its fantastic gameplay.

Overall, the sound is probably one of the biggest factors of the game that really makes you feel like you are a part of the Star Wars universe.

I'm here to set the record straight. Read the following sentence aloud while waiving your hand across your face: "This game is not the atrocity that most would lead me to believe."

It never REALLY gets dull force-pulling a blaster out of adroid's hands and then force-pushing it into a wall where it explodes gloriously into tiny bits.

Just plain fun - nothing more, nothing less.

Is it possible to love a game for a singular sound effect? We certainly hope so.

Amidst the craptacular voice acting and sub-par story, the compelling control configuration and nifty implementation of Force powers save this game from trash compactor annihilation.

Level design is uninspiring--too many long corridors. Compare this with the stroke-of-genius falling cargo ship level from "Jedi Knight."

This release, though graphically superior, just doesn’t stack up in terms of intensity or execution of gameplay.

Obi-Wan might have been a good game on the last generation of consoles, but it's too confused, rough hewn, and repetitive to stand up against Xbox games like "Halo" or even "Azurik."

What could cause such a winning formula to fall from grace? Camera... the bane of third party titles everywhere. And Obi Wan throws out all over-the-shoulder camera conventions and makes a totally static, completely uncontrollable camera.

This is Jedi Power Battles in 3D - a simple, fast-paced action game that makes you forget everything else for a couple of hours, just like the movie it's based on.

The level design is generally uninspired. It doesn't take full advantage of your Jedi powers.

Crappy character interaction, bland level design and sour eye candy clashes hard with an elegant combat system.

This is a game that could've been a reason to own an Xbox if LucasArts had tightened up all of the fundamental parts of the game that were lacking. And the sad part is, it would've been worth it. That's how much potential is here.

But the evil control, level design and graphics from the Dark Side can turn a good jedi like Obi Wan bad.

I was once again left disappointed, unfulfilled, and betrayed.

The only thing missing are the severed limbs. Oh, and an overwhelming sense of quality and/or fun.
