Ubisoft reveals Star Wars Outlaws PC system requirements and PC-specific Features

Ubisoft revealed the official PC requirements for Star Wars Outlaws, which will be released on August 30. They also listed the PC-specific features that you can take advantage of, if your hardware is capable.

Star Wars Outlaws' "ultra" settings will require some heavy hardware, but the game is forgiving on the other end. One of the best things about PC gaming, however, is the ability to fiddle. You can adjust one so that you can lower another until you find the right balance between eye-candy, and performance.

As hardware writer Jeremy Laird noted earlier this month, when the Ubisoft Store first published the basic requirements, "upscaling has become the new norm." Even at the lowest setting, you'll still need DLSS, FSR or another upscaling technology to meet Ubisoft's target frame rates. The game will run at a resolution lower than the spec and then be upscaled.

It's not a huge deal, but some lower end GPUs might struggle more than expected. For example, Intel Arc GPUs only appear in the "minimum setting". I'm no hardware expert, unlike Nick, but this makes me think it's best to use the "recommended" specs until you've seen how the game performs for others.

Here's a quick rundown of PC-specific features in Outlaws. Again, availability will depend on your iron weight.

  • Ray-traced illumination, reflections and shadows
  • NVIDIA RTX dynamic illumination (RTXDI) Support
  • NVIDIA DLS 3.5 support (ray Reconstruction, Frame Generation, Super Resolutio
  • Intel XESS 1.3 (upscaling) and AMD FSR 3.0 support
  • Customization options in depth
  • Uncapped Frame Rate
  • Cinematic Display Mode 21:9
  • Multi-monitor support and ultrawide support

The phrase "in-depth customization options" sounds a little vague, so we've included a screenshot from the new PC gameplay video to give you a better idea of what you can expect:

Star Wars Outlaws will be released on August 30th for PC via the Ubisoft Store or Epic Games Store. You can play the game up to three days earlier by purchasing the Gold or Ultimate Edition of the game, which includes the season pass as well as various extra cosmetics.
