With all the knowledge they acquired from previous Star Wars flight combat games, the latest graphics engine on the world's most powerful console, an exceptional story with a cast of three, and a reworked control setup, Star Wars: Starfighter offers one helluva ride.

Starfighter has refueled the Star Wars name with hope and glory as a solid title that shows off the PS2's graphical power very nicely. In fact you'll be hard pressed to find a title currently available for the PS2 that looks this good.

The basic thrill of playing Starfighter cancels out these minor gripes and most players should find this an engrossing and explosive experience.

One the best space shooters that has been released on PC or console and in the Star Wars universe or out of it. It has a similar feel to titles like "Colony Wars," "Rogue Squadron," and the X-Wing/Tie-Fighter games, but on a much larger and more polished scale.

Shooting fans will love it, and Star Wars fans, too -- but hardcore gamers will wish something more original was piled on to this "Rogue Squadron" update.

The first thing that will hit you is the stunning visuals in SW:S, everything is crystal clear, even with the speeds that you'll reach in the game nothing slows down, the action remains at a constant fast pace.

A complete package that includes a convincing storyline, likeable characters, solid action, some of the best control ever and voice acting as icing on the cake.

With stunning graphics and superb gameplay, Starfighter succeeds in rescuing the franchise from movie license purgatory.

The action is fast and furious, packed with epic amounts of dog?ghting and brief story interludes that are not exactly the greatest Star Wars story ever told, but get the job done. All in all it's a good time.

A definite must-have for fans of the movies and action junkies, pick this one up at your next opportunity and I'll guarantee you a good time.

The in-game models, landscapes, lighting and explosions are all in keeping with the Star Wars galaxy, and the engine is no slouch either.

Savvy joystick jockeys will be able to finish the story mode in about 10 hours or so, not including the extra game modes. Fortunately, the game is so much fun that you'll want to play it again and again.

A pleasant surprise: a Star Wars game with great graphics and superior audio that also manages to be fun.

While Starfighter is without a doubt a solid game, I can't help but wish for a more dynamic storyline or level structure. The ability to progress in the game without complete success would definitely boost the depth by leaps and bounds.

Starfighter has won back my trust with pretty visuals, controls as smooth as a baby's freshly powdered ass and an highly enjoyable play structure which welcomes replay.

The long missions require a lot of patience, but not as much as you needed to sit through the movie.
