Star Wars: The Clone Wars Critic Reviews

For the first time in my life, I was completely engrossed in a Star Wars game.

Though it doesn’t match the overall bliss which "Rogue Squadron 2" had with the graphics and all, it is still one enjoyable game that you won’t want to put down once you get thrown into the middle of the action, which only takes about five minutes.

The action is more intense in this game.

It sacrifices glamour and elaborate play mechanics to be what it is supposed to be: Fun.

Its strengths greatly dwarf its shortcomings.

If you are a big fan of vehicular combat games (like "Twisted Metal," for example) or just plain loved Star Wars: Episode II, then The Clone Wars may be right up your alley.

Pure action and tons of fun.

The flaws in the single player missions are very disappointing, as The Clone Wars could easily have been a near-perfect "Star Wars" title with more imaginative level design. As it stands, the multiplayer is so good that it makes up for most of the shortcomings elsewhere in the title.

Both the solo and multiplayer options deliver the explosive goods, but for maximum entertainment value try betting with friends on the strategy-based Conquest mode. Loser has to sponge-bathe Jabba!

The amount of onscreen action and opponents can be daunting yet exhilarating at the same time.

Magnificent controls, thrill-a-minute gameplay, and an incredible sense of pacing elevate the title above the average senseless shooter.

Graphics were great and were perhaps the best aspect of the title, all except for those arthritis-like frame-rates.

The action is intense, the control is fluid and tight, and the gameplay is diverse and well balanced...If only some of the more technical flaws and lack of polish had been smoothed out before the game shipped...

Although TCW has its weaknesses, its biggest strength is that it simulates some extremely intense and action-packed Star Wars battles.

Delivers what you'd expect. You want lots of explosions, and lots of things to shoot at, and they're on the disk.

Despite some strategic elements, it really is a pure action game at heart, filled with plenty of targets to shoot at, plenty of power-ups to collect, and a good variety of tough missions to accomplish.

Considering it throws in everything but Aunt Beru's kitchen sink (including a fun multiplayer battle mode, gorgeous cut scenes, even a Wookie cameo), you can't help be feel plump and satisfied after digesting this Episode II offering.

Brilliant in some places, just plain dull in most of the others.

Purely an unadulterated shooter that shouldn’t be thought of as anything more.

It suffers from hideous framerate problems at times but the texture detail is high.
