Stardew Valley's creator has beaten his own cursed Minigame to achieve 100% completion on Steam
I don't think there are many games that are endearing enough for their creators to play in their spare time. But ConcernedApe is racking up his fair share of hours in Stardew Valley. He spent a lot of time in Covid on a cooperative farm to stay in touch with his friends. Now he has managed to complete the entire game.
He posted the milestone to X and to no one's surprise, his final achievement is "Fector’s Challenge", which requires you to beat the Journey of the Prairie King in the Stardrop Saloon game without dying.
Only 1.2% of Steam users have this achievement unlocked. It's one of the biggest obstacles to 100%. Even ConcernedApe admits that he "deliberately" worked on Fector’s Challenge because it was the only achievement that he did not have.
Even more impressive is the fact that ConcernedApe says he did all of this in a totally legal way. He replied, "I had do it over two days because I was in a multiplayer farm". "But I did not 'cheese it' with the reloads. It was a legit no-death" run. He tweeted that if you want to survive, don't use the "nukes" because they don't drop any money. The best item that you can afford is in this order: ammo, revolver, boots. Save the machine gun powerup to fight fector. You can take him out before he has a chance.
Here are some tips and tricks from the horse's perspective. I've never spent much time on Journey from the Prairie King. I tried it a few times and gave up immediately. I admire ConcernedApe for his determination to finish his own cursed creation. He told another user that he received a "pat on the back" from the developer for his achievement.
