Brutally tough...As stylish and robust an indie debut as we've seen in a long time.

A lovely little indie game that offers high challenge, but falls short on its content.

A solid game mixing God of War fighting mechanics with Dark Souls difficulty. A little rough around the edges, Strength of the Sword 3 offers up some interesting experiences.

If you like fighting games but hate yourself a little bit, then SotS3 will be a decent addition to your collection. If you fight in much the same way Napoleon Dynamite dances then you might want to look elsewhere for something gentle like battling an angry bear in a phone box. For those hard enough to come and have a go just beating the game should squeeze enough value from the modest price.

So many things about Strength of the Sword 3 work wonders. It’s beautiful, elegant and fun, with details in all the right places.

This landed on us as a little bit of a curiosity but it has genuinely surprised us with the quality of the content on show, and once again we must reiterate that this is the work of just two people. If you like your games challenging but fair then you could do worse than to check this.

Strength of the Sword 3 is one of the better combat arena games that have been released recently. By concentrating on skill over button mashing, you have a game that requires more attention than most. It may have a few issues, but seeing as it was made by just two guys trying to make it in the game development world.

At certain moments Strength of the Swords 3 show its interesting ideas. But at almost all of those moments the execution is lacking.

Strength of the Sword 3 is a tough game. You’ll flit frequently from God-sent knight to obscenity-hurling peasant, and it won’t always be your fault. It’s certainly an impressive effort from a two-man team, and by no means an average game, but it fails to step away from the pervading notion that it's little more than a series of challenging boss fights.

It’s never bad to reach for the stars. It’s the only way you succeed. And much like the lessons Ivent Games hopes you learn while playing their game, I hope subsequent projects from this team eliminate the small, yet serious issues presented. Strength of the Sword 3 shows incredible promise, and goes a long way towards meeting it. It’s almost there.

There's some interesting gameplay and a rewarding challenge to be found in Strength of the Sword 3, but you're going to need some serious patience to get the most out of this game.

Strength of the Sword 3 has a fairly decent set up, but the game is hampered by a lack of tuning with input, camera, and a fairly awkward dashing mechanic.

Strength of the Sword falls short of what it could have been, though it does come close (at times) to achieving its lofty goals. Tighter controls, a balanced approach to item use and a more restrained use of cinematic effects would go a long way towards getting it where it needs to be. It's just not quite there yet.
